Way too dependent on comedy. It was a gigglefest from beginning to end. (And I've never been one of those people who complains about too much humor in Marvel movies.)

I loved it too, also i don't feel it was too dependant on comedy. Spiderman is a goofy character similar to deadpool, just not as over the top. Spiderman will have his serious movie, his just wasn't it yet. Not every sooderman comic has a dark series tone either.

I just felt like Spiderman didn't do anything. He just got his butt kicked and got lucky each time.

^That was my problem. I know he's a rookie, but he should have some combat prowess and control over his abilities. Tobey was putting up a great fight with Green Goblin in their unexpected first encounter.

The kid got super strength, not trained in MMA. He's also used to dealing with things like robbers and purse snatchers. Not mechanized flight suits of death. I feel this movie had a lot of really great character development. Sorry this film is a little more realistic than nerd gets super strength and instantly knows how to fight.

Half the people in this topic have never read a Spider-Man comic before. Yes, he's very comedic, and his fighting style is entirely based off of instinct and spider sense.

i thought it was funny that Jennifer Connelly is the voice of karen the spider suit. and jarvis is the voice of Paul Bettany. Both are married in real life.

I loved this movie. Easily one of my favorites. So much development and it being a gigglefest throughout was awesome. From what I've always known Spider-Man to be (based off the cartoons as a kid), I thought this was a great interpretation.

Loved it as well... it was incredibly refreshing to see they finally got the right guy to play Spider-Man after finding mediocre and mediocre-rer.

I think most high schools in big cities like New York are diverse.

What I noticed about his fighting was that he didn't seem to even have Spidey Sense yet. Tobey did. In this movie it looked like everything he did was by pure reflex only based on what he could see.

He absolutely did not have Spider Sense. Several scenes would not have worked if he did.

But did he improve on his skills at all? He had some personal growth, but physically I think he was the same person, just with an overly badass suit that he wasn't ready for.

I remember hearing the director specifically didn't want to use Spider sense. The whole thing is so nebulous and random anyway.

It's probably just dormant in this version. I'm betting he'll get it in the future.

Yeah, he did. His awesome suit got taken away remember? He took down the Vulture without that suit and just his pajama sweat things.
