TheOrangeMisfit 08/01/17 12:21:53 AM #1:	No video game nonsense for me, I can't imagine naming your kid something like sephiroth or samus or some silly shit like that. Boy - Dave. It's a good name, a little generic but it sounds nice and looks professional and serious. Girl - Roxanne. This is by far my favorite name. It is so cool sounding, especially the x sound and it's original too. I've still never met someone with this name, although it's probably a lot less common due to that Police song and goofy movie character. Like Mass Effect has Ashley Williams, I could see myself naming a future daughter Ashley but then there are ridiculous names like Ulfric Stormcloak for example that I would never use for my kids. It would piss her off and that would be fun. I don't have any strong feelings about names for a daughter, though obviously I like some names and dislike others. I might name her Blythe which is a feminine version of my own name, but that might seem a bit narcissistic. On my side of the family, most of the men are named after a relative like an uncle or great-grandfather (who I was named after). Since I don't have any brothers, and I don't want to name my kid "Rollin", I would probably see if she would want to name him after someone in her family. If it was a daughter, I would love to name her "Marion" (probably would call her Mary) or Nancy after my deceased grandmothers, but again I would want my significant other to be fully on board with it. --- I am a senior software engineer.
