Kinda want to get into online poker. I already checked and it's legal in my state, but for some reason my account failed a security check and they won't let me deposit with credit cards. My only option is bitcoin or a player to player transfer.

So, how does bitcoin work?

Curious about that aswell. Poker online with real money? I would never do that, too much risk with cheaters using hacks.

Considering one of my favorite streamers has won over $2000 in the past week, I'm willing to take that risk.

I used bitcoin for sports betting for a while but moved away from it because I didn't like the volatility. I had winning days where I ended up losing money because the value of bitcoin went down on the same day.

The other problem with BTC poker is that hardly anybody plays it. You'll pretty much be up against mostly sharks. You'd probably be better off trying to find another site that lets you deposit with a credit card.

If you really want to do it, though, it's pretty simple. You'll use a site called Coinbase that's essentially like Paypal. Create an account, link your bank account, and deposit money. Then you'll want to transfer the money to a middleman wallet like Breadwallet, because for whatever reason Coinbase doesn't really like you to use BTC for gambling.

Here's a more in-depth tutorial if that isn't understandable. Just replace Nitrogen with whatever site you're using.

Also apparently I just saw a thing about bitcoin splitting in two, so you might have to learn it from scratch anyway? I dunno.
