These people approve deadly drugs and prescribe them to unsuspecting people, all while telling us the product is safe. You can't eat anything packaged without eating the equivalent of a tbsp of sugar and salt.

Opioids carry an inherent risk of addiction that needs to be talked about and managed. Doctors and pharmacists need to advise patients about this and keep up with them.

This is not the only medicine to carry a risk. Again, if there was something as effective as opiates, and safer, we'd already be using it. The FDA would jump at the chance to approve it, I imagine.

I'm not gullible enough to think that the brilliant chemists who make these new age medicines couldn't come up with something better. It's not my job to create it, but you know good and well the problems it has. Have you ever lost a friend or family member to an overdose of prescription opiate painkillers? I have. Ever had a friend or family member get addicted (after being hurt) and then turn to fucking heroin on the streets when their prescription either gets cut off or stops working? I have.

C'mon, man. They can totally come up with something better.

If you don't wanna use that as an example, there are plenty of examples. Giving kids adderall (sp) is giving them the chemical equivalent of felony amphetamines.

The only thing you managed to prove was how little you really do know about this. Until such a thing is made and someone becomes extraordinarily rich for finding/creating it, opioids will stick around for the foreseeable future and no amount of "oh they can make it, they just choose not to" speculation will change it.
