Because he was violent. With good reason. Your people are being mistreated.

America only likes peaceful blacks. People that don't do anything significant to shake things up. Like that pussy Obama.

that's how I was taught and viewed him as some kind of crazy violence inducing kind of guy but I have been watching a bunch of interviews with him on youtube and this guy makes a lot of good points and articulates them well he is very charismatic. I guess I just expected someone angrier and less well spoken

Well, it's simple. He was a radical. America will only celebrate men who do not challenge their current prerogatives.

I don't buy the, "Oh, he had violent rhetoric..."

You know how many Founding Fathers were actually violent? Look at the deeds of Andrew Jackson. Hell, Jefferson himself has been accused of raping an underage girl who was his slave. But, he's white and wrote the Declaration of Independence...

No. But when people are killing you for whistling at a woman you need to fight back. There's nothing wrong with that. That goes for any margilized group that is having physical violence acted upon them.

There's no reason to be violent in today's time though. Even with the cop stuff. The media just sensationalizes that stuff.

That's not it either. If America refused to celebrate racists, there would be almost no White people to celebrate prior to the mid 20th century.

interesting in one of these videos Malcom is claiming that MLK was planted in the Black movement to pacify it and shut it down, he claims there were 6 Black leaders including MLK that they put at the head of the march. He says the march was already being planned and coming together in Baltimore and they were going to march right down to Washington and they couldn't stop it so the government infiltrated it instead and steered it away

People don't like to celebrate him because he was violent. Deny it all you want but people like him were necessary during the civil rights movement. Both the peaceful and violent movements together did more than either one alone would have. It's unfortunate but for the time it's true.

He believed in the Nation of Islam, which is black supremacy religion that believes a mad scientist created white people, asians and other non-black people by experimenting on black people and that the other races other than black people aren't humans, but evil
mutations

He gave it up near the end of his life when he realized that the Nation of Islam has nothing to do with actual Islam so Nation of Islam black nationalists assassinated him

He's not known for anything else except his racism. The only reason why people celebrate him at all is because they hate non-black people and want them to be killed

or because they don't understand what Malcom X or the Nation of Islam is.

I can't agree with people denouncing him for being violent.
He largely advocated self defense for black people, which makes complete sense in that time period.

Both him, MLK, and others made good contributions during the civil rights era.

If you actually think the FBI assassinated him, you are delusional.

Malcom X completely denounced the Nation of Islam as a hate group before his death.

Malcom X went to the middle east and found that the Muslims there had no idea what the fuck he was talking about. Remember, this was before the internet so he had no idea or no reason to doubt that the Nation of Islam had nothing to do with Islam.

He then realized that the "religion" he was told was Islam was actually a Black Supremacy Cult so he came back, gave it up, and denounced it.

So Nation of Islam cultists sent him death threats for a long time and they finally killed him.

This is all from Wikipedia, this is very public and well documented information

From his adoption of the Nation of Islam in 1952 until he broke with it in 1964, Malcolm X promoted the Nation's teachings. These included the beliefs:

that black people are the original people of the world[86]
that white people are "devils"[87]
that blacks are superior to whites, and
that the demise of the white race is imminent.[88]

Yakub (sometimes spelled Yacub or Yaqub) is a mythological figure of the Nation of Islam (NOI). According to the story, Yakub was a black scientist who lived "6,600 years ago" and began the creation of the white race to be a "race of devils." He is said to have done this through a form of selective breeding referred to as "grafting", while living on the island of Patmos.

You can read about Yakub here

Winston Churchill once said "I hate Indians. They are a beastly people with a beastly religion." Yet we still call him a good guy and celebrate him. Not saying we shouldn't, he was great leader who led the Allies to victory but that's the thing, we have to look at past people with a nuanced view.

Except Winston Churchill, Gandhi etc were all famous and celebrated for other things.

Malcom X is only famous for his work as a black supremacist advocating for the purge of all devils and subhumans aka white people, and how Blacks are actual humans and everyone else is an evil demonic creation

and that we should purge the earth of these creatures to serve God.

Like this shit is the only thing he is famous/loved for.

The only admirable thing he did was denounce all of it before he was killed by them

Is it cynical of me to believe that had Malcom X and King not been killed and not been on opposite sides of the movement the civil rights era would have come to a screeching halt for us? Say what you will but peaceful protesting does not work no matter what society tells you, we have our country because our ancestors protested with their guns, imagine if they just peacefully held up signs at King George.

That's what he technically said, but then he undermined that using the same logic as groups like Antifa, by claiming that black people were under a perpetual state of oppression from whites, thus justifying violence as "self-defense" in almost any scenario. To them, violence is always justified if it's being targeted against "oppressors."
