Alien: Covenant was not a good movie.

It was decent and better than Prometheus but there are several plot holes and weak instances in the script and story.

It was litterally a remake of the original Alien (which was excellent) with a dose of the terrible Prometheus.

It was pretty good but had the same pacing and character issues and even worse tone issues than Prometheus. The david parts were still really awesome though.

It was pretty bad.

I think it was very good. I havent watched the old movies, but ive bought them and theyre on my queue (1 and 2, heard i should stay away from 3)

I think they did a REALLY good job until the real Alien was born. The end was way too predictable and the actions scenes were too long IMO

I really like how they handled the idea of an AI (or several, for that matter) and what philosophy someone who doesnt need to think about death might have/get.

The build up and the scenes about the first "aliens" were excellent.

Much better than Prometheus IMO, i found that movie to a bit boring

I agree with this. But i dont think letting David take the lead was a bad choice, really. But yeah, a form of communication between Shaw and the Engineers could have been amazing

Yeah it's pretty clear after Prometheus didn't do well and people complained about there not being aliens that they just wrote a completely different movie and spliced it together with the original paradise lost idea. Really would have liked to see what the original script looked like.

Before Prometheus was there ever anyone who said "You know what the alien franchise needs is an origin story for the Space Jockey!



...Also evolution is totally fake. We should put that in the film as well!"
