he's not a master chess player anymore because Dan and David don't have the ability to effectively write for a character like that on their own

i mean it looked like the train was just a short distance from highgarden, so presumably it was a super long caravan that stretched all the way between the two capital sites. maybe the first of the gold was starting to be unloaded?

i guess rule of plot would suggest that cersei gets her golden company and dany just burned all the food in westeros

can you give an approx timestamp for this? it makes no sense to me considering they're like a hundred miles from kings' landing, bronn was paid out of a wagon full of gold already, and were discussing how to force the farmers to give up their grain.

also the idea that highgarden's riches on their own could pay for the 10 million golden dragon debt the crown had run up is particularly silly to me

rule of plot says golden company is going to come so that dany's numbers are thinned and the battle with the dead is actually hard though

And Jon is obviously like "fuck that."

So Dany then scolds him on being too prideful. She of all people wants to talk about pride. She literally just said that the only way she'll help is if Jon bows down and licks her boots because she's so full of herself.

We've seen Tyrion try to lecture her on the importance of diplomacy and making allies without necessarily having them bow down to you, but it seems to be lost on her. I understand that she's spent her whole life having her followers worship the ground she walks on, but she's so obnoxious.

It looked like she was making progress by allowing Jon to have he dragonglass without bending the knee, but she's already back to the "kneel before me" shit.

I think they were out of the Reach by that point. I'm not where I can check right now but Randall Tarly says all the gold is safely through the gates at Kings landing. I have no idea how its enough to pay off the debt that part makes very little sense.
