As someone who moved to Germany with no understanding of the language, I can tell you this is a terrible idea.

My job provided me with a translator and took care of my rent and utilities. The city I lived in was beautiful. The people were very friendly to me. The good was delicious. I picked up enough of the language to survive, but I never felt that I was thriving. Ultimately, I left the company because it just wasn't worth feeling alone all the time.

Also, work permits are easy if you have the right skills. I got mine in a couple of weeks.

The way my gf sees it she thinks that if the non german speaking refugees can manage living her own country then I should be able to too. Her patients havetold her of english speaking places where I could try to apply to. So there may be a chance.

Are you a military aged Middle-Eastern man who they advertise as "women and orphans"? To the point where the German government evicted property owners from their own homes, to house these people? And to the point where Angela Merkel, in a sheer display of brilliance, against the wishes of the majority of Germans, is importing even more?

That's the province much of my dad's family are from, iirc, though it was part of Prussia at the time. I'd love to go there one day.

I know in Germany at least there's a lot of smaller towns that are basically like suburbs for the bigger cities. You and I don't know how this is in Canada, but living in a country with a high population density means things are rarely far away.
