How about some wise words from a man that's been married 13 years?
For me, we were dating over 2 years. I didn't make it "special" or whatever. It was a night we spent at her parent's house and we were settling down to go to bed on the pull-out couch. I just felt it. we were about to go to bed for the night, I was holding her, and I just asked her to marry me. No ring, no one knee, it just felt right in that moment and she said yes. It was sporadic and unplanned, it just happened in that moment. You are thinking about it too much. It's best to live with them for AT LEAST a year. If you can put up with each others bullshit, you'll probably be alright.
