ELT is easy if you've got a buffer and an attack breaker. this is one trial where Zarga >> Rikku since elemental damage isn't a concern. i've been getting a lot of value out of him really, he's such a good catch-all unit.

at this point i'm wondering if my 100% evade Chizuru would solo him.

My standard Raid Team hasn't one shot elite yet.

Orlandeau - Divine Ruination (chain)
Fryevia - Frost Flower Blitz (cap)
Tilith - Stat Buff
Elza - Ravaging Blow
Ace - Tri Beam Laser
Orlandeau Friend - Divine Ruination (chain)

This team usually never fails me in raids, but Engels is pretty resistant. I don't have any Machine Killer yet (I think I've only ever pulled 8 Edgars), and sadly if I don't one shot Engels with this team, they are pretty much wiped out end of Turn 1.

I can do it easily in a couple turns though if I use my Tank Team:

Fryevia

Marie is great!

I feel like she is overshadowed by the much more popular Minfilia though. The only people who probably don't have Minfilia is anyone who started after the last FFXIV raid event.

Yeah I'd say Banner 5*>High Tier 5*>Great 4*>5*/4* with a great TMR>the disappointment of pulling a bad 5*

Honestly for me at least it's getting to the point where even if I want a 5* I don't care that much if I get it or not because it's either A. TM Fodder which is a luxury item to begin with or B. Going to further saturate my already crowded selection of characters I want to use.

Like I kinda want Cloud when he comes along but I mean, my team has 5 characters I like with or without him so *shrug

Using two Orlandeaus sounds dreadful. You should just use Randi and A2 imo.

Hell I'm still using X-Death in my party this Ashe seems like a great thing to have.

i haven't been playing as long as you guys but i'm in a similar situation. for me, Rikku and Tilith are niche units that are excellent but not who i need. i've now got Firion and Ace fully enhanced, either of them pushes out Olive (who needs two TMRs i don't have yet) at any given time.

i think the only main-stay in my team (not including good expeditions) is Rem due to her being so good at DPS and healing. Fryevia probably will be too now that i'm working on an L&A and have Camille's water sword on her.

Marie is outstanding. If you get her enhancements right away she can make the entire party status immune, which makes trials like Marlboro and Echidna a joke. The only reason to use Minfilia over her is if you want her buffs. Marie is a lot better at elemental coverage (can do 50% to all at once, or 70% to 2 without dark and light). Her TMR is also the Genji Glove of defense, while Minfilia's is a turd. Minfilia is good and has situational use and everybody has her, but she's no Marie.

Why would you put Aqua Blade on Fryevia? That hurts her elemental chaining.

though since he's out now, it's worth noting that 9S goes really well with Aqua Blade/Needle Fryevia. he's got a 50% Imperial for Water/Ice/Earth so you'd get full damage on that and his breaks compliment hers really well.

well, bear in mind he's normally doing one or the other and here he's able to pull both off in one move. he's also got a pretty easy LB to reach (16) and has two counter passives. personally i'm leveling up mine, i think he'll be one of my main support units.

I didn't really mean to say it as a first world problem as much as to encourage everyone who didn't get the units they wanted from this banner-- how much would you really prefer these Nier dudes over who you're currently using? That's the real question you need to ask yourself. If you like the units you currently have enough then it's not a huge deal to not get em.

Raid Points are used to determine your Raid Rankings. There are two kind of rewards, Point Rewards and Placement Rewards. Point Rewards are set in stone and are sent to your inbox as soon as you get enough points. You can check the full list in-game from the Achievement Status in the Raid screen, where you can choose the difficulty. Placement Rewards are given out AFTER the event has finished (give or take a week or so), and is decided based on your relative rankings to other players. Of course, the more points you have, the higher your ranking is, and the better the rewards are. I wouldn't worry about this too much. You can also check this at the Achievement Status button.

Also going to add Nio after I clear a spot, my Tidus isn't quite the best yet, but 800+ with Machine Killer ought to help.

Time to use up all my Cactuars, my 4-6^ supply is getting plentiful.

Oh and also Nio, you also get Engels Raid Coins, which you can use in the Nier Raid Coin Summon Banner (In the the second tab of the Summons, don't confuse it with the Nier Unit Summon Banner in the first tab). This is where you get materials to craft items from the recipes you get from the Raid Point Rewards, along with other goodies like Magicite to level up your Espers, Cactuars to level up your units, and GIl Snappers to sell. You can also get Trust Moogles, which are used to fuse to units to increase their Trust %, and if a unit's Trust is at 100% you'll get their Trust Mastery Reward. You can also pull the Nier unit Adam randomly from the banner.

He chains perfectly with Orlandeau, yeah. Most people like to equip him with Excalibur, but some use Deathbringer since he can get a 100% Dark Imperil. Always good to verify the element your companion unit is using if you're bringing one in to chain with him.

Screw it, I spent everything. All of it, down the drain because I wanted to pull it all. All of it! All my lapis, all my tickets. Three 5k pulls, one 10+1 ticket, 35 regular tickets, and all I have left now is 1k in lapis to sustain me for dailies.

In total, my best pulls were

Two 9S, four Eves, my second Zidane, Beach Time Fina, a fourth Rikku, and some more TMR fodder.

Oh, and Orlandeau.

So yeah, that was fun! And now I have yet another option for a chainer once I get him raised up and ready to go. About the only problem is I'm not sure whether I should just stick with Tidus as my friend unit, or switch to Orlandeau and use Tidus as a finisher with Jecht shot. I've gotten to where I can pull of a full Quick Hit chain about 40% of the time, and it'll be a while before the old man is ready to go, but hey, still not going to complain! Tidus, Aileen, and Orlandeau all on one account? Oh the possibilities...
