*working in a door factory for the summer for extra cash - $14.50 an hour no experience required.

Anyways there is a machine that you roll a glue barrel into that presses down on the barrel forcing the glue through a tube that then gets applied to the faces of the doors.

Anyways, while the barrel is being pressed there is a stopper on the top that has to be removed so air can escape. If that is plugged while the press is on, the barrel can implode or explode and fly out of the machine.

So I was walking to my station which requires me to go past this machine and right as my head is like ~2 feet from the thing it implodes and shards of barrel go flying. The guys on the shift before me started the machine without removing the stopper. It sounded like a shotgun blast right next to my head.

Luckily I didn't get hit by anything and just got covered in dust. The real shitty part is that they told me to just quit a few weeks early because I'm assuming they didn't want bad press about a college kid almost dying in an accident at their place due to negligence.

you could try to see for trauma or something. dunno your chances of winning but it's reasonable to be traumatized by nearly dying from that.

do they have cameras and stuff there that would be watching that machine?

Are they paying you if you quit? Are they hoping you "quit" to avoid a potential litigation for you?

yeah they paid me to quit. I wouldn't sue since it was a stupid employee's fault and not the company's. Plus my dad works there so if I sued he would probably be treated like shit.

I also work at a mill that makes doors.

Anyway before I worked there, a few years ago they had a 60gal air compressor explode.

Witnesses say shot off like a rocket busting through a saw table, stack bin and a wall.

If the guy working at the table didn't happen to have went off to the restroom he would have been killed.
