Aw, all the best waifus are going out one after another!

Ion was practically designed from the ground up to be the perfect waifu, too. Half the gameplay of Ciel nosurge appeared to be going on 'dates' with her

It's a bit hard to explain but the framing story of Ciel nosurge is that you, personally, are directly communicating with Ion through your Vita. I've only watched it on Youtube but the gameplay seemed practically designed to endear the player to Ion

You don't have to actually watch this but it's a good example of how interactions with Ion work (I take no responsibility if there are spoilers in this because I can't really rewatch it at work but I doubt there would be or that many people would care anyway)

Just a screen on some sort of robotic contraption. Ion loves technology/engineering though so that contraption is probably more attractive to her than any face could ever be >_>

37. Lacus Clyne
http://bit.ly/2wlvV2V
Origin: Gundam SEED
Nominator: Logicblade (1/5 Remaining)
Looks: 73
Personality: 75
Projected Wife Capacity: 55
Overall Score: 67.7

Lacus Clyne is an idol singer who, through a series of complicated events, ends up as the leader of a space faction. Because I would feel comfortable putting my space faction in the hands of a fifteen year-old girl whose every third sentence on TVTropes includes the word "ditz."

Looks-wise, I had an image for her, but I realize now that it might violate GameFAQs posting rules. You get a different image that's not quite as hot. Anyway, long red hair, I like. I am a little confused why virtually every picture of her has her in what I perceive as traditional Japanese dress while her name is clearly made of nonsense Western words ala Death Note.

Lacus is another of those all-loving idealistic heroines who never holds a grudge and is perfectly kind and wonderful. Other than that she acts ditzy to make people think she's less intelligent than she really is, Lacus is a perfect embodiment of that character archetype. I'm wondering why Japan likes it so much.

PWC-wise, well, she's an idol singer. Yuck.

Overall, I'm not super into Lacus, sorry.

Not super into her, but she made it to 37. I guess... I'm fine with that. Lacus isn't really a ditz, she only pretends to be one on TV. She's actually competent (almost ridiculously so), intelligent, and one of the few people in the setting who can actually make subtle political moves. As for the part about her never holding a grudge... well all of her political adversaries are dead and gone, and she does do a lot of work to make sure it happens, without having the need to step inside a gundam.

Well if normal people all think she's ditzy and only people behind the scenes know the truth, wouldn't everyone in normal life think their leader is ditzy?

To be fair, the Gundam SEED world is basically post WW2 with the way people died in it, and Lacus was basically the general of the winning army. With the sheer amount of death and destruction, I think the living would prefer an idol who preaches for peace over another militaristic war monger. She was also essentially on the front lines during the major battles that affected the outcome of the war(s), giving her some credence with those sort of people as well.

36. Oboro
http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/nintendo/images/c/ca/Oboro_portrait.png/revision/latest?cb=20170202071637&path-prefix=en
Origin: Fire Emblem
Nominator: Nameless2000 (1/5 Remaining)
Looks: 65
Personality: 50
Projected Wife Capacity: 88
Overall Score: 67.7

Oboro is a soldier in Fire Emblem Fates from notJapan who really, really hates people from notEurope. Uh-oh, I'm white.

Looks-wise, Oboro is on the high end of generic anime cuteness. I like thick ponytails and she has one, she's got the appropriate bangs, and though I dislike the armor, I'm sure she'll be willing to bend on that one.

Personality-wise, she's basically a normal cheerful person occasionally possessed by insane vengeance because of her murdered parents. That's not unreasonable, but it doesn't really make her the most pleasant waifu out there.

PWC-wise, she's in the top five on this list. She's got a normal job (fashion designer) and she's apparently world-class at it, so whenever she's not stabbing you with a spear, she's perfectly capable of being a normal person. And she's so devoted to being a waifu that when she dies, she laments not getting to spend more time with her beloved.

Overall, Oboro seems like a very solid waifu choice so long as you aren't from notEurope.

She has a unique expression in the pic I used to be sure, but the pic you posted sort of aligns with what I said: that expression is in every anime ever, leaving only her design to be counted. I guess if there's something unique, it's the unkemptish-looking hair where her head meets her ponytail.

Oboro can marry a few guys from Nohr. My favorite is Benny, a giant hulking man who's actually timid and makes good-luck charms.

Oboro x Benny's s-rank support is adorable.

Benny: Oboro...
Oboro: Hey, Benny! Thanks for that charm you made. The crystals you used were nice and sparkly.
Benny: I'm glad you liked it. The charm you gave me made me braver than usual.
Oboro: Good! I'm glad it helped.
Benny: ...
Oboro: Benny? What's wrong?
Benny: I actually made another charm today. Here...
Oboro: A ring? Do these count as good-luck charms in Nohr too?
Benny: Oh... um... Not exactly. If you wear that, you'll be protected. By me.
Oboro: Huh?
Benny: It's an engagement ring. If you were my fiancee. I'd always protect you... B-because I love you, Oboro.
Oboro: Benny...?
Benny: But you hate everything from Nohr. And I'm a Nohrian. So that's that. I'll understand if you want to give it back. I just had to show how I felt about you...
Oboro: Oh, Benny... Look at you. You're a mess! You're shaking like a leaf. Are you that scared that I'll say no?
Benny: N-no, um...
Oboro: ...Because I won't. I'd never reject you. I love you too, Benny.
Benny: ...Oh!
Oboro: I'll always blame Nohr for my parent's death. That'll never change. But I love you. Really love you. I don't think I'll ever find anyone as kind as you anywhere else.
Benny: Oboro... You don't know how happy that makes me.
Oboro: Benny! You're too big to start blubbering. Now put the ring on me!
Benny: Ok. Whew. It's a perfect fit.
Oboro: Now THIS is a good-luck charm! It's already making my life better, haha.
Benny: ...
Oboro: I certainly feel lucky to spend the rest of my life with you.
Benny: This ring represents a promise. My promise to keep you safe and happy to the end of your days.

34. Elizabeth
https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/bioshock/images/3/31/BioShockInfiniteLizThumbAIIGNVid.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20130301211902
Origin: Bioshock
Nominator: Sceptilesolar (2/5 Remaining)
Looks: 63
Personality: 71
Projected Wife Capacity: 70
Overall Score: 68

Elizabeth is a girl with the power to manipulate alternate dimensions and was locked away in a tower for most of her life before escaping with a man she just met. Clearly Bioshock is all a giant Rapunzel allegory.

Looks-wise, I chose that picture not because it's the hottest Elizabeth picture, but because there's something wrong with her eyes there that's funny to me. Seriously, though, she's a good-looking girl.

Personality-wise, she's sweet, kind, witty, smart, potentially a multiverse-destroying monster, innocent, and a bit of a romantic. I like all but one of these. That's right, I hate kind people.

PWC-wise, not only does her personality imply that she'll be easy to get along with, but I assume that as someone who opens up portals to avoid bees she'll be okay with letting me see cool alternate dimensions, like the one where the Star Wars prequels didn't suck.

Overall, Elizabeth seems like an excellent waifu.

Oh I guess I should post number 35

35. Samus Aran
https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/metroid/images/e/e6/Zamus_art.png/revision/latest?cb=20140707012004
Origin: Metroid
Nominator: GuessMyUserName (1/5 Remaining)
Looks: 94 (Number 1)
Personality: 76
Projected Wife Capacity: 33
Overall Score: 67.7

Samus is the biggest name left on the list other than Zelda, and yet she's only in the top forty. Oh well. She's a galactic bounty hunter who's great at fighting space pirates and terrible at getting regular installments in her series.

In terms purely of looks, Samus is the hottest waifu on the list. There are other extremely high-ranking waifus, mind you, it's not like Samus is ten points above everyone else or something, but she's just gorgeous. She nails everything I like to see in a hot chick, including blond hair, thick ponytail, bangs, being tall, and still manages to look good in her space clothes. Never has a jumpsuit looked that good. Never has anyone ever worn a jumpsuit and high heels before. And it helps to know that those high heels are also jetboots, which doesn't increase her hotness but is very cool.

Personality-wise, it's worth noting that I'm just not counting Metroid: Other M. Yeah, I know it's still canon, but I'm just ignoring it, too bad. I know some people like it, but they're bad people. It was directed by the guy who made Dead or Alive. The guy whose previous biggest contribution to gaming was inventing a new game engine that let boobs jiggle in different directions at the same time directed a Metroid game. Bah. As for Samus' personality, which I've barely discussed, she's brave, determined, resourceful, intelligent, loyal, and pays respects to the dead. She's a great warrior and acts like it outside of Other M, where she's an emotionally crippled little girl with daddy issues.

Samus' PWC is what stops her from reaching the top ten. Just as she has the highest looks ranking in the list, she has the lowest of any ranking of any waifu remaining. It's not hard to see why: she's a space adventurer who goes off for months at a time and fights monsters. That essentially means that she's going to be gone the majority of the time. On the bright side, she's a celebrity, so I at least get to brag about her being my girlfriend.

Overall, Samus feels more like a waifu who'd be excellent at like a distance rather than an actual, true waifu. She's hot and she's got a great personality, but she's going to be busy 90% of the time saving the galaxy, and in my heart I'll know that I'm not as important as her job.

84. Elizabeth
https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/megamitensei/images/6/67/Elizabeth_render.png/revision/latest?cb=20160328034121
Origin: Persona 3
Nominator: Sceptilesolar (2/5 Remaining)
Looks: 61
Personality: 61
Projected Wife Capacity: 50
Overall Score: 57.3

Elizabeth is a sidequest giver in Persona 3, the assistant of a guy named Igor (good for him for breaking the stereotype that Igors are assistants), a secret ultimate boss, and one of approximately nine-hundred Persona love interests. At least she's not a teacher gunning after her student while dressed as a French maid.

Looks-wise, Elizabeth goes for the "creepy alternate dimension anime stewardess with an eldritch tome of magic" look. That old classic. I'll be honest, there's something wrong with her eyes in every picture I could find. It's not that they're golden, it's something else that I can't quite put my finger on. Her very short hair doesn't do much for me either. I will agree that her clothes are unique, though.

Personality-wise, Elizabeth is cheery, silly, and inquisitive, but more importantly, she seems to have no knowledge of how the human world works except for some very vague ideas. In practice, I imagine that's going to make her functionally ditzy as she examines things (one example I found was her seeing a medical dummy's eyes pop out and reacting with intrigue).

PWC-wise, ehhhh, she's got a job as an interdimensional Velvet Room operator or something, I'm not sure she's going to have time for a complicated, stable relationship. She seems super reluctant to have a relationship because it'll compromise her job even for the Persona 3 Male Protagonist, and I just looked him up. Unfortunately, he looks nothing like me, so there's little chance I'll hit her tastes.

Overall, Elizabeth is weird? She seems more interesting as an oddity than as a proper waifu.

The Elizabeth stuff is accessible through sidequests, and you don't have to do it, but it's super easy to do, so there's no reason not to. Plus, like I said, it's canon that it happened.

I didn't know this, thanks.

33. Aeryn Sun
http://farscape.bittersweetblue.net/aeryn/aerynwt.jpg
Origin: Farscape
Nominator: Jeff Zero (2/5 Remaining)
Looks: 75
Personality: 70
Projected Wife Capacity: 60
Overall Score: 68.3

A defector from standard evil space empire variant #8 (vaguely Nazi-inspired bad guys disguised as good guys), Aeryn Sun is a soldier-turned-outlaw and was played by Vala Mal Doran in one episode of Stargate SG-1. Unfortunately, I doubt anyone will get that reference.

Looks-wise, I can only assume that when I made the rankings, I happened to be super into tough girls. She does nail the tough girl look, but 75? I dont know what I was thinking. I stand by that Claudia Black is very attractive, though. Its a shame shes not in more things.

Personality-wise, Aeryn is cold and disdainful until you get to know her, at which point she becomes sarcastic of everyone else. Thats amusing to me because I like sly jerk humor, so this happens to appeal specifically to me.

PWC-wise, shes got a job (outlaw thing aside), doesnt mind doing unglamorous stuff, and is very duty-minded.

Overall eh? I can see not liking Aeryn at all, but I do. Sorry!

I freely admit to forgetting that part. Seems like a major design flaw if you intend for these soldiers to serve on ships that might get damaged and having their AC break, even if you needed them to have a weakness to control them.

I mean, it does make more sense to indoctrinate your soldiers with religious propaganda and addict them to drugs only you can manufacture than to engineer them to be unable to handle heat.
