Okay, here's the scenario:

I like Kamihime Project, a pretty stereotypical waifu gacha game. I've been really patient, and have gotten almost all the characters I wanted through grinding, so I figured I would be okay spending money just once. I mean I put way more time into it that so many $40-$60 Vita and PS4 games.

There was a special where if you use gold (the premium currency) to draw, there would be a higher drop rate for some characters that I really wanted, one of which was Susanoo. Here's the thing: The banner said that there was an increased drop rate for Dark characters. You get characters by getting their weapon, which then unlocks the character. The weird thing? It was only after I pulled that I discovered that while the character Susanoo is Dark, the weapon that unlocks her is Electric (she's the only character in the game with a different element than her weapon), meaning that she didn't actually have a higher drop rate.

I contacted game support about that and they said it was a typo and fixed the description in the game. However, they also just said that I could've checked the drop rate odds. I admit that's true, but that was literally false advertising.

tl;dr
Company made a typo, I wasted $30 on something I normally wouldn't have spent any money on because of said typo.

The only other gacha game I really play is Love Live and if a mistake like that was in any part of the description, Klab would refund it right away to any player who contacted them and could verify they did indeed spend gems on the scout. If you already talked to the developers about it and they said "tough luck" I don't think there's much else you can do, unless you're willing to contact a lawyer and pursue legal action.

No, you can't buy characters (to my knowledge). It's for pulls; that one was for 10 pulls, with like 2 guaranteed SR or higher as well as the boosted drop rate for Dark characters.

Yeah these games have the weirdest filters. At one point, Love Live had Honoka as a banned word. Literally the name of the protagonist and her name was banned presumably because it had "ho" in it.

dude, 30$ is nothing compared to what people spend in gacha games. some even spend more than 1k$ just to chase a single character.

30 11x pulls on Terra's OSB and the guy didn't get it in FFRK.

The hilarious thing is not two or three months later, it started appearing as one of the regular items listd for several event and vi banners. In fact, it's probably the most common one now. xD

I know there's a guy on the FEH board who was like that. I don't think it was for a single character, but I think he spent over $1,000. Cerulean something was his name I think?

Honestly, if you have the disposable income and are willing to burn it this way and it gives you at least some entertainment value then fine go ahead, it's no different from buying TCG or DLC...
