I have had an active Capital one CC(currently Quick Silver) for almost a year(along with a discover IT CC) but got denied the chase sapphire card two months ago. Should I continue building my credit and stay with my current CC's before applying again? i think that if you keep your cards in good status, paying it off every month and keeping it open, you should be able to get it in about a year. you could also open a chase bank account in the meantime to establish a relationship with chase. if you do those things, you'll probably still be denied, BUT you can call in and talk to their Reconsideration folks to see what they can do for you. your chances will be much better if you do that. or you could go for the chase sapphire preferred, as that's much easier to get. the minimum credit limit on this card is 10k, so if your other cards aren't near that then you gotta build up to that. im pretty sure the only reason im able to get the card is that i've had the amazon card, managed by chase, for the last 5 years. so even though i dont have the best credit history in terms of length and size, ive shown that they can trust me. --- One in a Million, TWICE!
