Seems like no matter what, no matter how many people, no matter where, someone ALWAYS says "yo let's get some music bumpin' in here"

Can't even have regular conversations with these people because the music is so fucking loud

Like are these people so dissatisfied with the monotony of their lives that they need music to drown out their pitiful existences with interfering noise because they can't stand to hear themselves talk about their miserable lives?

Must be why most bars are so god damn deafening, even when there aren't any dance floors...

I took a trip on the river tubing and tons of people couldn't enjoy themselves without a boom box blasting music

which in turn took away the enjoyment for people around them who didn't want to hear that


it is almost like a mental disorder

like not having noise jammed into your brain makes you scared and anxious and like a cigarette you need a beat so loud thumping your brain around like a fist from a trained boxer, and look anywhere for that fix

IMHO, sharing experiences with friends is a hell of a lot more joyful than hearing the same old over-produced shit over and over.

Let's TALK to each other. Let's play fucking video games with each other. Let's not just sit on our smartphones and listen to the same songs for the hundredth time, thus discouraging us from talking because we have to shout to be heard

Statistically speaking this speaks more against the TC's cognitive ability than anyone else's. He's admitted he's unable to think or interact with other individuals who do so just fine.

I tend to agree. I don't mind background music, or the occasional bumping of it. But when you're hanging out and socializing, I don't like 90% of the experience to just be loud ass music.

This is where I am. Background music is fine. But it needs to be quiet.

Example: I was traveling to see some friends that I hadn't seen in several months. We're sitting around shooting the shit for about two minutes before one of them plugs in their phone and gets the speakers bumping. I'm deadass, we were shouting the whole time in this dude's two bedroom apartment. Totally unnecessary. I turned down the music because I didn't like having to shout at 2PM in the middle of the goddamn day.

A dance club is the only place where loud-ass bass music should be acceptable. And I guess sporting events, but even if those go for more than a few seconds it gets obnoxious.

Some of you guys are reading way too far into this, but yeah, those people are annoying and I will never understand why they need it whenever they get the chance.

I especially don't understand people who study better with music. It seems like it would just distract you, especially if it has lyrics.

I agree. It is very annoying and very unnecessary.

The lyrics part I totally get. But one of my exceptions where I listened to music unprovoked was studying for finals. Get a playlist of classical music and movie soundtracks going and that's good background noise.
