my dude, literally any person with any online presence and connection to him disassociated with him immediately upon reaching out to, or coming in contact with, the people he's hurt. some of his closest friends and colleagues publicly apologized for their behaviour, mentioning how the space they cultivated, and their own personal ignorance/blindness, allowed Nick Robinson to hurt others. many of those hurt, or close to those hurt, by Nick Robinson, have responded to Nick Robinson's statement by saying that he is, again, manipulating words to protect his public image, and how they were not hurt by "flirting." you don't need to keep carrying this torch.

I'm sorry if I give the benefit of the doubt to an acquaintance after seeing people overreact (plz read the next part before taking this out of context).

If someone said "Nick raped me, Nick abused me, Nick gaslit me" then I'd take it seriously, but the only "evidence" we got, which was literally being shown as "sexual harassment and manipulation", makes me extremely skeptical because it straight up wasn't that AT ALL.

Based on everything I've seen so far my stance remains the same, he's clearly guilty of more than the flirtations he was accused of otherwise he'd be fighting this to save face. He acknowledges abuse of power so it stands to reason he was doing it with people whom he was supposed to have work relationships with, and potentially doing more than "just flirting" with his fans.

I think Polygon have opted for the non character assassination approach and just decided to shove him away. Which was kind of inevitable.

In the unlikely event that it happens that all he did was copious amounts of flirting and trying to get laid, everyone's handled this incredibly weirdly so I just can't see a situation where that could be true.

but there's no way to know.
does this kill the Vox investigation too? if so then okay, we're pretty much left with nothing except "send nudes" and flirting unless we get something first hand. still a good enough reason to ditch Polygon considering how much purity matters there but not something that'd ruin him completely.

that was certainly implied by some of the tweets. the whole thing started with him ripping on the Overcooked Switch port, and one of the early tweets against him was "guess Overcooked didn't send nudes."

not super definite, but it's the best that I've seen.

yeah, i buy that. there's some inferred stuff there and if he's forgetting about his position like he says he does, the two click perfect. and obviously if that's going on then he shouldn't be a journo, that's clear. not on par of being the worst in the world but not the job he should be doing.

it'd also explain his "misunderstandings" as he calls them, though obviously there's no way to know. you could see such interactions as actively malicious ("fuck her, she didn't send me boobs") but i wouldn't attribute that. i'd assume a more negligent version of that, where he just doesn't pay as much attention if there's no flirting/sexual stuff. that'd make a lot of sense if he's hitting on multiples as his attention would be somewhere else (e.g., another twitter DM with boobs). the unintended implication the other side gets is no boobs, no attention, explaining some of that side's accusations. that doesn't seem too far and would explain his confusion, assuming he's telling the truth. it's a neat place in the middle.
