Getting Dak in a trade in the other B8 league got me the improbable win this week. So that's cool.

Managed to win in my money league despite playing the wrong QB, TE, and Defense. Tyreek Hill carried my ass and Freeman was my only other player to hit double digits and it was just barely in his case. Fully expecting to lose to arguably the worst team in the league next week.

I feel like I have a not very good at all team but somehow keep winning.

Which balances out with a couple years ago when I thought I had an absolutely amazing team but somehow kept losing.

I need < 15.9 from Chris Thompson for the win. If he gets his expected usage without busting a huge play, I'll be alright.

Two out of three of the of the other 4-2 teams lost. The other one is up half a point with Wentz + Jeffrey vs Reed + Eagles D. I could gain sole possession of first if things go well.

Wow, I just realized my schedule luck extends beyond facing low scoring teams in the first few weeks. Here is a list of the players I get to dodge facing as a result of byes:

At this point the dodges don't really matter, I guess? There are still three absolutely horrific teams in our league that I have yet to play, so I should be more than locked for playoffs. Aiming for one of the first round byes at this point, and hoping my team can get/stay healthy by then.

So far my opponents have been doing most of the dodging. My opponent dodged Freeman and Sanders week 5 which I lost. Week 6 my opponent dodged Green and Dalton (both of whom were on fire before the bye) and I won that one barely. But let's take a look at the other weeks...

Week 2: David Johnson (I'll likely see DJ Week 13 unless they shut him down with Palmer out)
Week 7: Miller and Fournette (really lucky with this one as I lose if either of these guys play I think)
Week 8: Fitz (I wouldn't have been scared of him anyway with Palmer going down)
Week 9: N/A
Week 10: Lynch, Blount, Kelce, Justin Tucker, KC Defense (I will be very salty if I lose this matchup since this guy can't field a full team with all these byes...yeah he's bad and yet has a 3-3 record).
Week 11: Benjamin and Funchess

I mean, he's rubbed up against that all season. My league is full PPR, and he averages ~16 points a game, so it's not out of the question.

I hate when the Eagles are on MNF. Not only can I not watch my home team play, because fuck paying for cable, but I have no idea what's happening in a tight contest for my fantasy team.

I just watched Alshon Jeffrey get targeted for a red zone pass and have it go incomplete. Jeffrey's supposed to be my best receiver now that OBJ is gone, but he never does anything. Plus if Blount had run it in instead, that would have completely swung the match. And I have no idea what's happening because I'm watching the box score on Yahoo as it updates a play at a time.

Maybe I should turn on the radio.

Did anyone else feel like that spot on Cousins scramble was awful?

From the angle I saw on ESPN it seemed like he was clearly short by half a yard or more. And there wasn't even a measurement.

Thank goodness it worked out perfectly for me because Reed got a TD (helps me by not being Thompson plus my 4-2 leaguemate faces someone who has Reed) but in terms of a spot, I think that's the most shocked I've ever been at something not even getting a second look. Fantasy aside.

Speaking of Brees...I got offered a trade for him in my money league.

AJ Green for Brees and Demaryious Thomas (but he's willing to include any other receiver on his roster other than Kelvin Benjamin)

My QBs are currently Mariota and Dalton so not inspiring. My other receivers are Tyreek Hill, Emmanuel Sanders, and Will Fuller.

His other receivers are Parker, Funchess, and he's holding onto Corey Davis and Josh Gordon (for whatever reason).

I'm not big on Thomas especially with Sanders on my roster. And while QB is probably my weakest position (well, TE probably is), I dunno if getting Brees and losing Green is worth it. Another thing to consider is this is a 2 player keeper league and I got Green in the 2nd. So he's currently an option for me next year. What would you guys do?

Yeah. Maybe I'm in a slight panic over Mariota having a dogshit game against Cleveland and Dalton having his worst game with the new offensive coordinator against Pittsburgh. I dunno if I'd even play Brees this week with Dalton having a really favorable matchup against the Colts. And hopefully the bye helps Mariota heal up more going forward. Might ride out the week and see what happens.

Would you rather have Steelers D or Lions D from this point on? Ignoring the fact that steelers have a bye coming up.

I have the Lions D and have been really happy with them.

Even when they give up 30 points they have enough ints, fumbles, sacks, and whatnot to be worth a ton of points.

I've been rolling with the Lions D in my B8 league and like FFD said, they've been great. Only reason I'm not playing them this week is that I also have Minnesota going against Cleveland.

I was streaming kickers and defenses week to week for the first half of the season, keeping RB/WR depth until I saw how things shook out with injuries and which defenses/offenses were really good and which were just flukes. Somehow despite that, I ended up getting the Saints kicker and both the Steelers/Lions D, which are 3rd and 4th in my league. Trying to move one of them in a package to get a solid RB2, but unsure which is the better keep. Lions has a little better rest of schedule, but I think Steelers D is better and just hasn't gotten as lucky on the touchdowns.

It's never a good feeling when you go into the week with a lower projected total than your opponent, who happens to be 0-7. I'm not sure if that makes me feel better that I'll pull out the win, or further loathing the possibility of losing this match.

Eh, projections are pretty worthless. Can't speak for yahoo per se, but on ESPN they definitely seem to be questionable.

Like Alex Collins this week is projected for 10.5 in my league. His average is 5.1, the highest he's ever scored is 8.4, and they're playing against an above average run defense after a short week, with no changes to their run game as far as injuries or whatever. Kinda makes you wonder.
