I played Marth and lost my first game since I wasn't used to the Gamecube controller

Second game I 4stocked a guy's falco with grab spam and such

But now my third match forfeited so I'm now with like all the people who l cancel and shit. Room curfew happened so it doesn't continue until tomorrow night

How do I become the best Marth player in Indiana I'll have maybe two hours of free time tomorrow to practice on Dolphin

anyway focus on spacing and basic tech like dash dancing/wavedashing, maybe try and get good at chaingrabbing fox/falco. I'm trash at Melee and my Doc sux so I can't offer much beyond suggesting you practice your fundamentals.

Top players so far I saw was a Sheik, maybe another Marth, and Captain Falcon. Also a DK but he glided on trash players like me so

Okay so I read the first guide I found on Google and surmised the following:

- Dtilt
-Retreating Fair
-Uair, Dair
-Dtilt
-Grab Uthrow
-Grab Dthrow
-Fsmash

Are some of the most important moves, it's important to use your reach in order to 'control the game'

It's extremely thorough and begins with the assumption that you've basically just picked up a GC controller and want to compete in melee (which is basically your situation now). Netplay is good for learning the intricacies of matchups and such, but NOT for honing your execution/tech skill.

Watch a lot of footage of top level marths, such as Mew2King and PPMD, to get an idea of what you're supposed to be doing. The best practice is playing someone better than you, and getting destroyed. Over and over again. Literally everyone goes through this process to become better because it can be extremely effective at purging you of bad habits.
