i just started playing. i got past the 'intro' section and landed on Earth. the first 2 missions i got were pretty boring. i basically ran around a large, but empty area grinding against easy ass enemies that took no effort until they dropped what i needed. please tell me it gets better.

It doesn't. People will tell you it gets better, and to stick with it, but it never gets better. It's the same boring ass shit through the whole game.

The combat pretty much stays the same, except for more shmups.

But if you're playing the game for stylish Platinum action, you should've done your research imo. The hook was always the genre blending and fantastic story, aka more Nier.
