Wendy's for wrapping burgers in foil or the person for not knowing that you aren't supposed to microwave foil?

You? I mean, I guess some people don't know to not stick foil in a microwave, my dad stuck some old chinese food in those little foil bags before, but really, if you know not to stick metal in there then maybe you should've put two and two together.

The first sparks and growling sound should provoke enough alarm for any sensible person to turn the microwave off.

The foil says "Do not microwave" on it, so it's the fault of the person microwaving it.

By default, probably the person who didn't know not to microwave foil although I haven't always remembered that myself. Honestly, I'm not sure why places put shit in foil. Does it keep the heat better? Stop liquids from dripping?

I had a roommate a few years ago who fucking destroyed my microwave because she was too dumb shit to realize that you don't microwave a Pop Tart with the foil on.

She wasn't my roommate much longer after that.

This. Wendy's has historically wrapped their burgers with foil to keep all that delicious grease from escaping, where paper would've just disintegrated. Even the foil's integrity occasionally becomes compromised, usually while attempting to hold together a Classic Triple, but I'm glad it is there and trying to give me a fighting chance.

This, not that it would stop someone from suing over it and maybe getting a settlement thrown at them to avoid another McDonald's hot coffee scenario.

Supposedly, that hot coffee thing was somewhat legitimate. McDonalds was apparently storing their coffee way hotter than it should have ever been because they found that majority of people wait until they get to work to drink it and it would have saved them money. She supposedly also suffered way worse injuries than just the burns, but what exactly they were escapes me at the moment. Something to actually look up and get the facts on if you really want to know what was going on. But there was an actual reason why she won that lawsuit rather than she was too stupid to not pour the coffee on herself.

Why would somebody microwave a Pop-Tart at all? Those are toaster foods.

Plus she got a very small settlement at the end, iirc, because McDonald's tied things up with appeals.

I'd mostly picked Liebeck because she offered to settle for $20k and McDonald's took it to court. Nobody knows what it ended up costing them since they ultimately did settle out of court before the appeals.
