Equivalent Ryzen chips seem to be much less expensive and also run cooler and take less power. And with AMD's history, they'd leave Ryzen out there to get thrown into Obsolesce by Intel's regular updates like they did their last gen chips. Zen 2 and 3 have been in the works for quite a while. It appears that Intel is going to lose its manufacturing lead and AMD will be able to take advantage of that for Zen 2 next year and Zen 3 in 2019. Intel just got lazy and did marginal gains, kept 4 cores the norm, and didn't even try to create any kind of progress. Shit they got so lazy that even tick tock got too hard for them to keep up. At one point like a decade ago Intel's roadmap had them set to be phasing out silicon chips by now and moving onto an entirely new method of making chips. And not to mention them getting fined for breaking anti competition laws.
