white supramacists tend to dislike blacks the most in the US.

my experience isa large amount of white nationalists are neonazis. blaming Jews for many problems.


the more "moderate" group would be the white separatists.

The problem is that in practice, this means they think that certain countries belong to white people and that everyone else needs to leave. This means that mixed marriages and mass deportations are generally in the cards, which overlaps pretty heavily with the latter.

White nationalists can advocate a whites-only state/country/etc. without necessarily believing their race is superior to others. It could be in the interest of self-defense or preservation, or other reasons.

I think the problem is that you have to have a skewed and incorrect view of 'racial purity' in order to be a white nationalist in the first place, which is an inherently precarious position to begin with.

Sometimes they believe that white and whatever nonwhite cultures simply aren't compatible, and that it's in their best interest to separate themselves. Sometimes it's a reaction to what they see as their government favoring nonwhites - they're losing out so they need to fight back. Shit like that.

Anyway, as I pointed out before, they are not inherently the same thing, but they overlap to a ridiculous degree and it would be incredibly rare to meet an egalitarian white nationalist. The base of their idea is that the nation belongs to them because of their race. It's sort of a racist idea to begin with.

Some just believe in racial separatism. Not that one race is "better", just that separate societies should exist for white people, black people, etc.

Well, yeah I really am looking for a realistic reason. Because all the reasons that I was thinking of, very similar to yours, just don't come off as realistic to me. Every time I've ever seen someone say that they wanted races to live separately, it's always backed by some idiotic "we don't like race mixing" type of ignorance.

So I'm guessing that even if someone did come to it for some other conclusion, it's probably infinitesimally rare

I've come to the conclusion that white nationalists are also white supremacists.

they wanna preserve a "white national identity", despite the fact that white people have multiple cultures throughout the world, that have their own history.

so, they're basically acknowledging that their sense of "whiteness" is a melting pot, that they're arbitrarily limiting to race.

No, they don't. Nationalists favor protectionist policies for their countries, usually things like tariffs to make imports less competitive and strong anti-immigration policies to prevent an undermining of the native workforce. There are numerous non-hateful nationalist political candidates, especially in Europe.

White nationalists go a step further and believe that non-whites with different cultures are inherently a threat to their society since those folks will not or cannot assimilate. They'll point to things like the refugee issues in Europe as an example. This is an ideology shared by the alt-right.
