while it's a nice sentiment it's important to remember that Sonic Mania could have been a bad game.
I do agree with the idea that companies with respected, dormant franchises should be more proactive with reaching out to indie developers working in the same genre. A Castlevania game from the Momodora devs would be great, for example. --- ICON: We've got movie sign! ... Copied to Clipboard!

Crimson Echoes was not good.
Capcom -kind of- let this happen before with Mega Man X Street Fighter, which was enjoyable if not great. Since it was a non-commercial product it didn't get the polish it should have but I still think the boss fights are pretty good --- ... Copied to Clipboard!
