5 grams of sugar doesn't even seem that bad to me for a breakfast sandwich. It's not a healthy sandwich regardless of the sugar, but if that's breakfast and the recommended daily sugar intake is 37 then that's manageable.

Four grams of sugar is one teaspoon. Also, that's saying that drinking a can of Coke every day is "acceptable."

And? Go look up how much is the recommended daily limit. A can of coke is 39g of sugar so that's almost fine if it's the only added sugar you have that day, which is pretty unlikely.

Soda of any kind aint just sugar. Its processed sugar which the body cannot breakdown as easily as simple or complex carbohydrates. Think thats how it goes.

Sugar can be in your fruits and other non processed foods

Alternatively - don't cut back on sugar :D

Sugar is the biggest reason why you get fat, so if you want to lose weight, cutting back on that is the most useful.

That was just a list of foods that don't have added sugar, which I'm sure TC understands. He's probably looking for a way to manage what he's eating. I could be wrong.

The first post was a complaint about egg sausage n cheese croissant, which can safely assumed to be fast food; and BBQ meatballs, the sugar content of which could only be known if it's in a box or served in a styrofoam bowl somewhere.

Processed food is just bad. It's made to last essentially forever, while not tasting like it's been stuck in a freezer or left on a shelf for essentially forever. Fast food isn't very different.

I know.

If he is trying to cut back on sugar, he should focus on foods that don't have added sugar. That is a list of options with which he can create a variety of meals to suit his needs and fulfill his goal of limiting sugar. If he wants to half ass and try to find a pizza with no sugar added, he is setting himself up for failure, and telling him that his dietary short-comings are his fault isn't being a smart ass

I agree, but it is more than just know what those foods are. He probably doesn't know how to manage his diet and do effectively. Eating healthy is not the easiest thing in the world for everyone and in the U.S. we really don't get good nutritional education.

I think you could dial down the attitude a bit, as well.

You are inferring attitude when there is none intended.
