Flying Battery Zone or whatever it's called has given me two Game Overs.

Keep running off the stage in the special stage too. Also lost a bunch of lives to the Act 1 Studiopolis boss even though it seemed pretty simple.

Pretty fun though.

I was never very good at the old Sonic games in the first place, but I think it's a very reasonable difficulty given that you can save between zones.

the only stage that has given me game overs is Desert Mirage (w/e) Act 1 because I kept falling off the fucking plane fuck that piece of shit.

I beat flying battery first try. Don't know what all the fuss is about.

The latest mess up on Flying Battery for me was the part where you have to fly through the lines where electricity turns off and on on them.

Also I think what's screwing me over is the fact that I lost so many lives to the Studiopolis Act 1 boss, it was pretty simple but I kept screwing the timing up and dying.

Classic Sonic games should always start out speedy and easy and slowly become more focused on slower and more complex platforming.

Nope, thought it was the easiest when grouped with the genesis games. The closest I ever got a game over on was the oil ocean boss.

Well Sonic games always suffer from the fact that too many people now a days have a false concept of what Sonic games have been about. Sonic games have never been about just "speed" and "running fast," I mean sure they start out that way but the real depth of great Sonic games has always been the slower platforming parts later in the games, that is what would always test your ability to play the game and punish players who just want to "run real fast."

For me it's the fact that if you speed your way to the right the whole time, you will miss alternate paths and shortcuts that are actually faster.

No, but it's probably because I played through Sonic 1, 2, CD, 3&K and two fangames, so I was getting back to my groove.

If anything, I thought it was perfect.

I last played those when I was like under 10 so I don't remember how hard or easy they were.
