And sort of stumbled into being a hyper power and world police after WW2. But like anything that isnt great but is handed greatness, it has massively failed at being one. Unlike the previous world power, Great Britain, US is not great. It pretends to be so. Boasts about it. But it's really a hack. Let China pick up the slack. I am sure they would do a better job. Are they authoritarian? Yes. But look at the history of China, they have a tradition of being great. The US is now moving back into what it used to be before the world wars. A rich country that's also very brutal, peculiar and insane.
