Yeah because living somewhere makes you a super expert on the place...

It makes you more informed than a nobody on the internet who has done no more than a modicum of research and applies sweeping generalizations across state lines in his grand plagiarized fan fiction, yes.

You ignore facts that contradict your "reading".

And you spout unsourced nonsense as fact (i.e. All Humanity didn't descend from a common ancestor despite science and Christianity saying otherwise).

You're just a blind sheep repeating talking points on a constant loop.

He was, for all intents and purposes, the "opening act" of the rally, which originally was to include notable white supremacists Augustus Sol Invictus, Gavin McInnes, Joe Biggs, and Kyle Chapman, among others. Two of those did not come - Invictus and McInnes - and the rally, poorly-organized and poorly-attended as it was, fell apart before Biggs or Chapman were able to speak.

But hey, why do any research into things when you can just trust things posted on YouTube!

I think the only white supremacist in that group is Augustus Invictus. I'm pretty sure Joe Biggs isn't and I know Gavin McInnes isn't. McInnes in particular is trying to purge all the white supremacists from the little cult of "western chauvinists" that he put together. He didn't realize that the confusion between western chauvinism and white supremacy went both ways.

It wasn't a white supremacist thing.

Chapman is a major league white supremacist. He was a leader of a National Front branch in New Zealand. He was the one who smashed the Berkeley protester in the head with the large wooden pole. His wife left him because he wouldn't renounce his white supremacist views.

McInnes is more of a xenophobic nationalist who happens to be white. Thin line, I guess.

I also really enjoy how Vlado thinks I said Shiva Ayyadurai was a white supremacist, when all I said was that he's a shady opportunist masquerading as a populist

I didn't realize Based Stickman was a white supremacist. I knew he was severely brain damaged and he should probably be in a mental hospital rather than leading Right-Wing Antifa.

But yeah this is not a white supremacist rally.

No, feminism is based on the idea that there's a kyriarchy (like a patriarchy but for the entire pyramid of oppression) keeping everyone down unless they're cis, straight, white and male. It's a stupid ideology that encourages discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, disability status, etc.

Only 60% of American women and 33% of American men consider themselves feminists. Basically if you're opposed to affirmative action there's nothing in feminism for you because basically all the fights have been won. There are no legal rights women lack and the only ones they're in danger of losing are, like, reproductive. Which you don't need to identify as a feminist to want to defend.

What if you care about things beyond legal rights?

It's also false that reproductive rights are the only relevant legal battles to be fought. For example, mandated paid family leave would be a pretty significant legal victory.

Uh no the kyriarchy is the intersectional part that is about how everyone has privileges and oppressions and they all interact with each other. So obviously straight white cis males have a lot of privileges overall, but it recognizes that there are non-zero oppressions that they face, same with non-zero privileges for minority classes.

But lots of people just completely explode when they hear even the slightest talk of privileges and oppressions though, so you can't ever find a reasonable way to talk with them.

OK, family leave would be a valid example. But you don't have to be a feminist to be in favor of a policy. And the label has enough baggage that I don't want to identify with it.

I agree with WhoopsyDaisy. I know feminists hate it when people say "I'm not a feminist, I'm a humanist." They say that if you believe in equality, you're a feminist. But the foundation for that label is that women don't currently have equal rights.

And if you go beyond legal issues, no one really agrees on what equality actually is.
