I love it when a "review" for an item also notes that the company who made the item also provided the item. Obviously it's gonna be nothing but positives.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned how a metric ton of Youtubers do that 'jump cut to my next sentence' thing. Yeesh.

I never understood the point of that. Do they do a separate take each for a few lines?

Youtube went downhill after people started getting paid to make videos. Money should never have been brought into it.

They've taken it back out for all practical purposes.

Back in the day, if you needed help with a boss, you'd search it and click a video, and it would usually show a 2 minute video on what techniques you need to beat the boss.

Now, you search and the shortest video is like 11 minutes long, has a thumbnail of some face with an exaggerated expression, an arrow pointing to literally nothing, and a title typed like "HOW TO BEAT THIS BOSS! IS IT REALLY THAT EASY!?!?!?!?". When you click it you gotta watch an unskippable 20 second ad. When you finally get to the actual video, it has a 30 second intro of the guy's channel with clips from various other shit he does that you don't care about, then starts off with the phrase "What's up Youtube? [channel name] here! Today we're going to go over how to beat this boss!"

Then he spends 8 minutes with annoying ass commentary about all these things you don't care about and him trying and failing the boss, while jump-cutting to the next attempt because he thinks it's comedic or helpful. Finally the last attempt is the one that kills the boss, which is the only useful 30 seconds of this long ass video. Then he ends with "Be sure to like, comment, and subscribe! And check out my twitter and instagram! And give my Patreon a look if you want to see more videos like this!" before fading out into a some pic of his avatar and thumbnails of 3 other videos takes up the last 90 seconds of the vid.

Youtube has changed >_>

This is incredibly accurate. Especially the part about searching for the shortest video.

Speaking of good intros, anybody remember the old ProJared intro he used in his older videos?

Or that still currently ongoing IHE intro with the fitting music?

Good times.

It's like they're pretending it's about keeping things short and simple but meanwhile we're stuck in this unending introduction

Yes. They are cutting out whenever they mess up, rather than redoing it all.

It's one of my top 3 grievances with modern day Youtube.

On that note, I don't mind the "customized intro" as much as i do the pet names for their "fans"..."What's up Mah VIPAGTS-DIANS!"....or some shit like that....its weird.

Be sure to like and subscribe.

Why did everyone start saying this?

Because subscriptions are generally a way to measure a YouTube channel's level of popularity, which can in turn be used for increased ad traffic, and thus revenue for said channels.

No I meant before they used to say click or hit the like button. Now they say smash the like button.

I just realized I quoted the wrong guy.

Because they're shamelessly trying to hide their desperation by putting a twist on what is basically begging.

yea, one sounds like petty begging "please click the like button I'll really appreciate it"...the other, they think, sounds cool and encourages people to get excited..."SMASH THAT LIKE BUTTON VIPA FAMILY I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT YOU'RE THE BEST FAMILY ON YOUTUBE"....Granted, most of the people who do that primarily have kids as their majority viewers so i guess in context it makes sense.

I dont understand why companies even advertise on most big name vlogger channels. The vast majority of viewers are 13 years old and cant buy their products.
