I can see why they did it. 17 and 18 don't really have many stand-out showings the way characters like Goku, Piccolo, Vegeta, and Gohan do. They're relatively generic. The only special ability of either I can think of is 17's Barrier.

Making them a duo gives them something that really makes them stand out on the roster

That's fine but that's also why everyone is saying it'll be cool if you can reverse them. if 17 is the one with the "only" special move, why is 18 the main playable one? lol

So they can have one girl on the roster.

Looks pretty good. Here's hoping they release Capt. Ginyu in a style like the androids.
And of course Master Roshi, as unlikely as he'll be.

It's possible they'd bring in Caulifla and Kale, but it depends on how long ago they determined the roster and if they had knowledge of them at the time.

Agreed 100%. I think people are too used to the fanservice type DBZ games of the past where you could play as literally everyone who got a line in the show. I think ASW is more concerned with bringing diverse play styles than to let you play as Appule.

18 being the "main one" would be a bit of a blow though (if you can't switch them) but as someone mentioned, there's a scarcity of female fighters in the show. Still, I would love a Bulma in a mech or a Piccolo Jr. Saga Chichi
