This in the wake of the Charlottesville rally where white supremacist marchers clashed with anti-fascist protesters leaving one woman dead by a nazi 9% or 22 million Americans believe these views are "acceptable" whie another 8 have no opinion but the results are surprising after the outrage over Neo-Nazi presence at the violent Charlottesville march Many politicians and high profile people spoke out to condemn these groups where Trump said there was GOOD PEOPLE in this racist bunch and he was quickly shut down by critics and people of his own party leaving his approval ratings lower than venereal warts. The poll unsurprisingly said the majority of Americans disapproved of his handling of the protest while 1/3 of people rejected his idea of him equating counter protesters to neo-nazis and white supremacists 10% of these respondants said they support the alt-right compared to 50% who oppose and 40 were undecided The majority 60% do not support these groups Do you think it's acceptable for the alt-right/neo nazis to hold rallies? While I don't agree with them, or the Antifa commies, technically it is "acceptable" for Neo-Nazis to hold rallies. They have the freedom of assembly and speech granted by the Constitution.
We also have the freedom to ignore them. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

...eh. I want to say yes, but I'm not sure I like the idea of allowing those sorts of things to gain momentum. Then again, suppressing them might make a more dangerous underground movement that can't be controlled as easily as one allowed to be out in the open. Force them into a corner and they'll find another way to do what they want. At least this way, all they can do is make demands and gain no real ground.
So, in the interest of keeping an eye on them? Sure. I don't think their views are acceptable, but we can't very well just start locking people up for being racists. Best solution seems to be to do nothing (aside from counter protest and vote, or whatever). --- "Perhaps it's impossible to wear an identity without becoming what you pretend to be." - Orson Scott Card, Ender's Game ... I think any rallies that posses a message of restricting the freedom of others are missing the point, and "anti-free speech" should not be considered allowed as part of free speech when it becomes mobilized and violent. Neo-Nazis, Antifa, etc., are nothing but trouble and should be rounded up and put in jail if they refuse to renounce their subversive agenda. While I'm sure the former would fit right in there, the latter's cowards behind the masks wouldn't know what hit them when they got to prison... My guess is they'd spend their time either crying or saying the wrong thing and getting constantly beaten.

What a shock that on PotD, more than 3x as much % of people think it's acceptable than the general population. Never would've guessed.

I think they should be allowed to have rallies if they are nonviolent. If counter protesters want to show up and voice their displeasure that is also fine.
Im fine with giving everybody a voice no matter what, but either ignoring it if its something I dont agree with, or showing why they are wrong with logic and facts. ... Copied to Clipboard!

if the completely stupid and utterly pointless race-bait-and-hate group for white people can't have stupid fucking and pointless protest rallies, then none of the other completely pointless and stupid groups can, either
If you don't like it, do something about it. I'm sure they'd love to hear your *cough* protests *cough* in person. --- #TeamShenti - facebook.com/shentex Still #Unbannable ... Copied to Clipboard!

Yellow posted... It's the little details that matter. Still, too high a number unless the survey was specifically saying that the thoughts themselves were unacceptable. I suppose it is "acceptable" to hold such views given the context that people can believe whatever stupid shit they want, but legit Nazi views are ABSOLUTELY not acceptable in a civil society.
