as it stands disputes are usually information gathering and by the time you have any idea wtf is actually going on

And that would be a dumb move to harass a mod, because they can get banned very easily for doing that.

Considering the site doesn't do KoS anymore and you could easily harass them off site on Reddit or social media as well like people like Hoth have done and get off fine.

How would that help anything? It would just say "moderator" 99% of the time and how would their level change anything? If you appeal are you going to be like "you're a new mod so obviously it's just a mistake!" or "you're a lead mod you should know the rules better than this, this is clearly a mistake and I know the ToS better than you!"
