First off, Llewelyn just dies off screen. After the whole movie of following his epic on and off chase/fights with Anton they just kill him off screen.

Then Anton just gets away scot free. Sure he broke his arm prolly but still got away.

Then Tommy Lee Jones is just like "what the fuck just happened in this movie"

Yes the ending blows. For me it totally ruined what was up until that last 10-15 minutes a great film. But then it is a Cohen brothers movie and their films are complete shit. Yeah that's right internet, I said the Cohen brothers are shit. I'm sure that's like high holy heresy to a lot out there but imho they are. They can't make it far in a script without some completely random weird shit happening or a completely pointless story thread with no payoff cropping up.

This has bothered me since I watched it a few months ago. Is Jones' character supposed to be the main character? The title suggests it's about him, but he barely does anything. I wonder I'd like the movie better if they just removed his parts and spent the extra time on the chase. It seems like they were going for an Oscar bait story or something. I assume the book is the same.

In the book the ending goes a little further IIRC

Anton meets with this cartel leader guy, returns the money, and offers him his services. He wants to be a cartel hitman or something.

Still has the sheriff being like "well shit man if you go up against stuff like that, you are putting your soul at hazard"
