I don't know anything about scotch. I have gone out to bars that specialize in it because other people want to go and just order whatever they get. I want to get a bottle of something for this weekend. What should I get?

Glenlivet and Glenfiddtch 18s are great

Single malt, 12 years aged is like cheap good scotch. Don't get blended garbage. The brands you listed are tasty. I like a smoky taste myself.
