That's depressing as fuck. Will our decedents (if we even survive even remotely close to that long) be able to save themselves?

We have a few billion years to figure out how to move out. No rush.

I didn't watch the video but it's talking about like heat death or something right? I think humans will find a way to cure it someday. all we have to do is survive long enough and i think we will become like gods someday with the level of tech we will have. we will prevent the explosion of the sun or we will physically move the earth. and we will cure heat death

Earth will end like Krypton if the intersection with the Andromeda galaxy doesn't wipe the planet out first. This is assuming modern man actually survives this century to begin planning for such problems (unlikely). If we keep modern civilization another score of years (20) I'd be shocked.

Have you watched the news any this year? This cycle cannot hold and it definitely can't end well. Something has to give. Most historians say that it doesn't matter what weapons are used in WW3 because WW4 will be fought with sticks and stones. A lot of 80s cartoons were low key post apocalyptic like Thundarr the Barbarian.

yes i know. I've been around since 1981. they have been saying this my entire life. it never happened. now your acting like it's gonna happen any year now. people were saying in the 90's that it would be "any year now". my point is that they were wrong and you will be wrong. throughout all of human history, people have thought they were living in the end times. they have always been wrong

I don't know how you could actually believe that the world will end within 20 years.

World, no. Society? We might not survive this term.

I feel like he's just making wild speculation. that's too far in the future to predict. We're gonna get hit by an asteroid in 600 billion years? Sure.

Well, he's making it sound like he's just making it up as he goes, but if you watch through History Channel's The Universe series there's a lot of explanation about the science behind it

America might not. The rest of the world has a good chance, though.

That's some really, really hopeful thinking on your part. The universe must end just like it began. Thinking we can overcome the own universe and become gods is just laughable.

It's all just speculation, but there's actual science behind it. We're able to accurately predict interstellar events, because there's not much interference on a macro level, and things are pretty consistent. It's how we're able to send rovers out in space and have it go exactly where we want it to go, despite everything in the solar system orbiting the sun, which is itself orbiting in the galaxy, at a very fast pace.

It's when you get down to the micro level, like what the weather's gonna be tomorrow and the wind velocity, that's when things become extremely hard to predict.
