Been playing the game for a couple weeks, put in about 28 hours getting up to what I thought was the final boss.

Beat the boss and BAM, whole new section unlocked with a new story arc, several new areas, and the game just now is introducing quests into the mix. The game just doubled in content in a split second.

I honestly thought it was just gonna be a silly, fun little pseudo-RPG you blast through in like 15 hours to play over and over, but holy shit I was not expecting to put 50+ hours into it. Really impressed.

The postgame is theoretically infinite.

I've been enjoying it so far, up to the elf village. Does the game get more challenging though? It's starting to get a bit stale considering you just breeze through each stage.

I beat everything including the post game and it definitely has charm. It does overstay its welcome a bit and some enemies are huge difficulty spike or just bad design (instakill is horrible). The mii characters are funny but if you let the game auto select there is an enormous amount of repeated characters.

For the most part, the game is pretty easy leading up to the Dark Lord.

It becomes harder when the Darker Lord appears, and post game actually becomes pretty difficult at times.

I dunno man, most casual RPGs usually wrap up around the 30 hour mark. I was honestly surprised miitopia even went that far. That's why I was so surprised that it had such a drastic shift at that point.

When you say post game, are you referring to the travelers hub? Just wondering cuz if the Darker Lord never gets defeated, I'm gonna fucking cry since my Great Sage was Iwata :(

Yeah, Miis are usually more fun to use in games when you actually have friends.

Yeah, Miis are usually more fun to use in games when you actually have friends.

Burn aside, you can still have fun making absurd matchings of fictional characters. Like making the Greenhorne princess Ganondorf or Hank Hill.

Definitely. I did a mix of people I know with character miis. Gordon Ramsay makes a great traveling connoisseur. I'm still waiting for the right moment to use Hank Hill though.

It actually bugs me that I can never get Miis of people I know to look right. The picture-taking part of it is so inaccurate.

Yeah the automatic Mii creator is absolute garbage, I think I tried using it once and never again.

I'm REALLY good at making Miis from scratch, so I never have issues getting them to resemble people i know. Hell, I used to sit sit around just making Miis for fun when the Wii first came out.

It becomes harder

Can you really say a game where you have such little input has a difficulty that increases or decreases? I mean Miitopia is practically a movie, or a CYOA book at best. When you're just hoping to get lucky with your allies' RNG/AI or repeating paths to grind on autobattle, I think that's just padding or filler, not "difficulty".

I mean it's not any different than oldschool RPGs in that regard... I was annoyed when I found out that you can't control your allies, but I've also played classical RPGs that do that so I wasn't really bothered for very long.

There's a certain level of strategy to the game, and grinding definitely helps. You have enough input to control the outcomes most of the time.
