I really don't want to sound cynical but is this worth getting excited over?

I felt that FotNS was more in place when it was with Dynasty Warriors people

with the Yakuza people it feels somewhat ...inappropriate. I just don't feel like it fits

Any particular aspect of the Yakuza brawling style that you feel doesn't fit with hokuto no Ken?

To me, the heat action system seems perfect for the "you're already dead" sequences.

I see what you're saying. Yakuza is a lot more slice-of-life. That doesn't necessarily mean the devs can't make something different, though.

Weird, cos in the source material, kenshiro fights a number of goons closer to what you get in the Yakuza series.

The fights also have a tendency to focus on single target stuff and there's a huge number of boss fight opportunities.

Holy shit this sounds like a match made in heaven. That trailer looked great, too. I'd trust this team with just about anything, but it'll be interesting to see how they approach the story.

There's definitely not much source material I can think of where my first thought for most appropriate pre-existing battle system goes to DW. I guess Gundam, but they did that!

I agree that FotNS doesn't feel like it would lend itself to a DW-like. However, I would have said the same for Attack on Titan but that game was really good.

Hokuto musou was the last of the line of bad musou games after that they started figuring out how to make them pretty good

Musou games work better with other video game series rather than anime shows imo.

I'm not familiar with a lot of anime, but I reckon Yakuza gameplay and Cowboy Bebop would go together excellently.

I mean, they both involve guys with amazing hand-to-hand combat skills and nice suits.
