I am deeply discomforted by white nationalists/supremacists and strongly disagree with what they advocate, but that is not to say this wave of censorship and cloud asset seizures isn't unsettling.

These sites have been around for years, decades even with Stormfront. While I applauded the Daily Stormer being taken down because of its unprofessional, irresponsible, blatantly hateful, and quite frankly unethical journalistic practices, Stormfront in spite of its views has a reputation for very carefully policing and moderating the posts and conduct of its users. In short, it's being shut down for having the "wrong" views, and not for any sort of illegal conduct or violation of the clear-and-present-danger principle.

What's more, driving their discourse from the surface web means they will simply regroup elsewhere less visible - private chats, the deep web, etc. - where their ideas and plans are less readily available to be scrutinized by the general public and engaged in debate by those who disagree. It will reinforce their victim complex, and simultaneously, the echo chamber they exist within, which is a dangerous combination.

Stormfront regularly advocated threats and violence. They were smart enough to "remove" the posts but, it was still there. That and they purposely encouraged people to spread their ideology on message boards and other sites.

A hosting company is free to host whatever content it wants. If Stormfront wants to be sure it can stay online it should get its own hosting capabilities.
