Hey Rox, you do realize if your neighbor has all those "supplies" right next to you it isn't going to mean jack shit when your whole house is being flooded and you won't be able to survive. I don't care how many vitality pills you have, you're not stopping flood waters.

I don't know anything about those Vitality pills or Caveman drink or w/e the heck all that is, stopped listening to AJ in 2013 but when I listened he promoted Storable food, water, ammo, generators, "the life straw", and other survival gear. I don't know what good those pills and supplements will do because those aren't what im talking about...when the water recedes you are going to be begging for a neighbor that has these survival tools and joel and his millions should be the last thing on your mind

My real thoughts towards the victims are the same I had for Sandy and Katrina. I seen a TV interview with a guy about the same age as me who said he lost everything in his trailer...i wanted to weep for him.....but then I turned the channel to see people in safety 3 states away say they didn't feel obligated to help and instead pushed the responsibility to JO just because he has money and lives in the neighborhood

What's wrong with making people feel better in this often miserable world? His words arent bad, they are inspiring messages to his followers. That's a better message than most media nowadays

what's wrong with it is he is conning those people out of millions of dollars then won't turn around use what those millions helped build to help those in need get away from a storm that forced them out of their homes...you don't see a disconnect there?

Making people feel good is a scam and a lie if you're willing to let those same people die in the streets to exposure, drowning, and starvation.

People like this have been around long before Joel Osteen. It's not some new con he's running and people should stop giving money to these megachurch assholes.

The problem is religion has a strong hold on people. Those in need of any sort of strength, answers or help with any problems they have will gladly give money to a church. Not because they like Joel but because they think he can really reach god and help them. They're being taken advantage of. You shouldn't expect those people to realize that and stop. You should expect the assholes to stop being assholes and hope they'd stop taking advantage of vulnerable individuals. Unfortunately they won't

But what would you propose doing to stop people like Joel? I'm not against fraud or consumer protection laws, but there's a big difference between buying an actual product or service that's designed and promised to meet a specific need versus some asshole spouting of feel good bullshit. At what point do you place any burden on people to avoid scams or cons?

I don't doubt there are hundreds of churches in the area helping people through the flooding... I don't think it's a matter of Christians vs Muslims. .. it's a matter of a money grubbing con man with a stadium church who can't be bothered to do what hundreds or thousands are risking their lives and their property to do.
