I'm thinking of getting a new not used console off of craigslist, what do you think? How can i be sure the thing is new?

I would not. I also generally would not use Craigslist or buy a console from not a real store.

Craigslist is alright you just make sure to meet in really heavily trafficked places, then again i have never bought something off of craigslist before but doing that seems pretty safe. --- "Sometimes they even attack wounded foxes" ... Seems like a good way to end up with a box of phone books or an empty shell of a console with some weights super glued to the inside. How are you going to check if it works? What recourse would you have if it didnt?

I've bought games off of Craigslist and it went fine, but I don't think I'd be willing to get something that's so big of an investment that way
