Of course we do. That's why people can choose to disassociate from fucking Nazis.

I trust that you wish to get rid of at will employment and otherwise enshrine protections for workers from the whims of their bosses to fire them over the things they do outside of work.

Oh please.

If this guy was fired for attending a gay pride parade you'd be the first one leading the outrage. Not defending at will employment.

nazis and white supremacists aren't a race, religion, gender or sexual orientation. It's 100% ok to fire someone for being a nazi or white supremacist. It's as good a reason as any, if not better than most

even if you aren't morally opposed, it's bad for business. the general populace is not for white supremacy, so it reflects badly on you if you keep them around

Stop equating a gay pride parade to a neo-Nazi/white supremacist rally. It makes you look like an ass.

A better example would be an antifa rally and fuck all of the violent people on that side as well.

Unfair, is it better to support people with what they're born with (skin colour, sexual orientation), or what they learn (extremist beliefs, religion)?

Where do you draw the line IYO?

My question is, would you support someone who's born a certain way over someone with certain beliefs? Is it better to defend people for something they can't control over something they can?

It's not awfully vague. I gave examples in my previous posts.

Would you support someone who was chinese over someone who hated chinese people and went on marches proclaiming how much he hated them?

There is no way to balance supporting at will employment and protected classes. They are contradictory

I should have been clearer: I oppose at will employment, and I believe that all workers should have a union and collectively bargained rights and protections. My point was more to suggest that these goals are the solution to the problem perceived by our conservative buddy Mr. Lennon, who I doubt supports unions and worker protections. I don't believe his distaste at capital's power over this worker is accompanied by the willingness to actually challenge that power.

In our current circumstances, I am not going to lose sleep of a Nazi losing his job, but he should have a union.

Also, Jesus, being a white supremacist is not the same as being gay

I'm not implying anything. I never said anything about violence.

Do you believe that something you're born with (ethnicity, gender) trump something that is learned (racism, religious beliefs) in terms of being "protected"?

Say, what would you think is worse? Being discriminated because you are black, or because you have white supremacist beliefs?

What do you think is worse? Being beaten with a rusty hook ir being beaten with a tire iron?

I find the question silly. Discrimination is bad. Arguing that your prejudice is "less bad" than other people therefore it's okay to be a hypocrite is logic that leads to madness

Why is the question silly? Discrimination is bad, yes, but surely discriminating on the basis of race, gender etc. is somewhat worse than discriminating based on beliefs? Would you agree, or would you find them to be equal?

I think arguing which hypocrisy and which discrimination is "better or worse" than the other is a silly waste of time.

Is racism against a black guy 3 points? Black girl 4? GAY Muslim in a wheelchair 7?

Youre trying to flatly quantify being a dick . I don't see the purpose. That's not how logic and reasoning works.
