This is a pretty fascinating montage of clips from the mainstream media outlets, all criticizing Trump for a lack of empathy and not making them feel good despite admitting he did an effective job at providing relief and federal aid during the disaster.

The first exchange in the video.

MSNBC host (man): Did Trump have his empathy moment today?

Guest: He didn't have the empathy moment yet, but he's done a very good job except for complimenting the crowd size that came out to greet him.

MSNBC host (woman): He didn't hug a mom, or hold a baby, or shake someone's hand, or ask a senior how they were doing. It was really remarkable. He acted like this was a big field trip, and it was the biggest and the best response, and we're going to congratulate each other later. It was typical Donald Trump without any empathy.

They would've nitpicked any action he took this week with regards to the fallout from the hurricane.

If he didn't show up at all "WOW...he's so cold and careless...The orange turd can't even take a moment to visit the destruction and the American families that have been effected by this tragedy!"

-The fact that he did show up -
"OMG...he's getting in the way of relief efforts!! He's causing more people to die! Sad! And look at him...no emotion!!!"

If he did show up and did everything they wanted him to do: "Look at him! He's so fake! How is anyone buying into his bull!? He doesn't care about these people!!"

He can't win in this scenario.

I've made my seething hatred of the Trump administration clear and I would have extreme amounts of ire for him if he fucked this up. Beyond the fact that he basically tried to have a rally in Houston like a fucking dingus, he hasn't really done anything wrong.

Federal relief appears to be going well because he was smart enough to put the right people in charge to manage disaster relief, and while him trying to stroke his ego in Houston makes him a shitty person, I'd rather we have that than an Equestrian club owner in charge of FEMA like we had with Bush.

Basically: He's done fine on this. Osteen pissed me off a lot more since he only opened his church once rightfully scorned for not having done so in the first place.

This is valid, btw. These disasters are becoming increasingly common at this point (Katrina/Sandy/Harvey all in the span of 12 years, all record breaking and dangerous storms) and slashing the FEMA budget will make the efforts seen in Houston significantly harder to perform.

It's not a criticism for what's done, but it is a poor policy idea with ongoing proof of why it's a poor idea.

Seems to be going well, haven't heard much of anything about how it isn't besides Trump being his egotistical self and things that go on outside of his control.

I do have issue with the removal of the infrastructure flooding regulation though, based on what I know about it. I have issue with cutting FEMA and such at this point as well, if they are deciding to do it.

These are the cuts to FEMA:

$667 million from FEMA targeting grants that help state and local governments prepare for natural disasters and other emergencies like terrorist attacks. The budget would also require 25% cost matching for preparedness grants. Modeled on FEMA’s existing disaster recovery grants, the provision is designed to ensure state and local governments pick up part of the tab when the federal government doles out money.

$62 million from the National Weather Service, or about 6% of its 2017 budget. The proposed cuts include $5 million the agency plans to spend updating its weather models and another $5 million on experimental forecasts aimed at allowing it to predict changing weather 30 days in the future instead of the current 16 days.

$190 million for the National Flood Insurance Program to update maps detailing which areas of the U.S. are flood prone, which can affect flood insurance premiums and real estate development in coastal areas.

You have zero credibility if you fail to not only recognize but admit how the media has bias against Trump long before he called them out on their shady practices.

Trump isn't perfect by any means but let's not act like the media doesn't have a dishonest bias.
