...because I feel old. >_>

I dunno, some of my friends my age have kids in middle school already, and most at least elementary age (still a few younger ones, though).

No.

Sounds like a good age.

Might just be that most of my friends started younger, for better or worse.

It seems a little old based on how most people seem to do it, but it seems a decent enough part of your life, arguably a little better. I wouldn't have problems with someone having kids until they were like 45-50 or so.

Maybe I'll put something here one day.

Not too old yet. But getting there.
I had my first at 22. I'm 35 now and have 3. My wife and I have discussed having another now (she's 32) but we decided that we're good with what we have.

Does being 55 when your kid turns 20 sound too old? Sounds okay to me, though it's a bit older than me. Not like me in my late 40s/early 50s for my kids when they hit 20 would be that huge of a difference, though.

Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.

my dad was 35 when I was born and he was usually older than most other parents but not in any kind of awkward way

He would make his mark, if not on this tree, then on that wall; if not with teeth and claws, then with penknife and razor.

Weirdly more than my age it bums me out a little that my parents will be like well into their 80's when my daughter graduates high school. Like that's basically the age my surviving grandparents are right now while I'm middle aged. I have lots of fond memories of my grandparents when they were probably in their mid-50's and still really active and stuff, my parents are already way past that, lol.

Fortunately I have a young wife, so less chance of birth defects, but the male's age can cause problems as well apparently.
