Can't afford this costly habit. Its not even really about current or long-term health concerns.

Anyone got a smoke? Just can't do Newport/menthols.

Just stop

That's not a problem considering I have none, and can't afford more. Except I really fucking want one.

if you hit 72 hours, you are over the physical addiction. so just think that every minute you go without one is one more minute towards the goal of 72 hours. and then, if you're about to have one, think about how you'll be throwing all of that anguish and discomfort right down the drain, only to start back at square one when you eventually do quit. those two things really helped me when i quit like six years ago.

Yeah, plus I'm not around smokers, so no real temptation. It was just part of my routine- that's almost harder to deal with than the physical aspect.

i quit smoking about 3 years ago. nasty habit. not as bad as those commercials make it out to be, even with long term smokers.

but yeah, its a waste of money, waste of time, and any satisfaction you once got from it get's replaced with just the feelings of getting your nicotine fix.

then smoking on a hot summer day is the WORST UGH

ugh but then again smoking on a misty, cold winter day is fucking awesome. and smoking while drunk is great too.

but uh.. yeah. good job TC.

I say again because it isn't my first go-round. Its tough initially, but like a bad break up, eventually fades.

This was the hardest thing for me. I got so used to make it part of my day, and so used to having one in my hand I didn't know what to do. Nowadays I carry a bottle of water with me everywhere I go almost just cause I need a prop.

Anyway, just stop. Do it. White knuckle through it every time a craving comes up. Even if you don't care about the health benefits, you should. I haven't smoked it 4 years, and while I don't feel "better" now whenever I pass a smoker on the street the smell makes me absolutely sick.

It's been amazing going from "that smells DELICIOUS" to "omg that is the most disgusting smell ever". It smells worse to me than even before I began smoking. Truly showed me how toxic and addicting it is.

Do you really want a cigarette or do you really want to quit smoking?

Of course it's hard, I never saw how that's an excuse for people. A lot of great things in life are REALLY hard and people do them every single day

Think about 50 to 70 years in the future when you're dead and at your funeral if you were a smoker people would just feel pity for you they won't even be sad you're gone just disappointed that you killed yourself think about that every time you want to have a smoke

Honestly, its more for financial reasons. The things you note wouldn't trouble me. Gotta die of something.
