Matthew is tearin arena up though. Any unit is beatable when their stats have all dropped by 5-7.

And uhhh Kojirou is p good. Star ratings don't matter much in that game

Game kinda does suck ass though it's literally as bad as Fire Emblem Heroes was with updates.

I think putting it off two months was a good idea though. I'm not sure I'd feel a lot had been added had the accumulation not all hit at once and trickled in.

On the other hand, given Reinhardt is a pretty old unit, I'm not sure it's power creep as much as not understanding how their game works

I'm at tier 18 this week. I have yet to make it into 19, so I'm always switching between 17 and 18. Maybe this week will be the week to break the streak.

gravy, when you have units that good, you really should go for the higher tiers. You get better rewards, so there's really no reason why you would want to play it THAT safe.

Well I've been lazy a few weeks and I just did it for the orbs. But I've been finding it pretty fun lately. I'm like....ranked 41st of like whatever the amount of people I'm competing against, which is neat and kinda tells me I'm pretty much under ranked. Which I figured. Hell I don't even think I used the cheap mode team now that I think about it. I did however face a double Bow Lyn team (lol)

I think the only meta unit I don't actually own (besides Elincia) is...Azura? But Ninian subs for her fine enough so yeah.

Thank you, RNG god!!! Yesterday, I got Klein as my free summon. Today, I got Elincia as my first non-free summon :D

She's +Def/-Spd, so she'll have trouble quading. I was thinking I could train up BK to be used as the bonus 40% character if I can't get one of the Crimean trio, but man, getting Elincia with 5 orbs is fucking amazing.

I'll probably be moving up to Tier 19 this week. Got in my perfect run.

On the subject of powercreep, one comment I've seen that rings true to me is: if Ryoma was released today, people would cite him as an example of powercreep. There have always been really strong units in this game. Pre-inheritance Takumi was about as bad as the worst we've got now. Reinhardt + Bow Lyn on one team is obnoxious as hell though.

Also Felicia is good, people just don't understand how to use characters that can't deal 99999 damage on their own turn

Yeah Felicia has always seemed good to me. She's basically like bizarro Matthew, trading lower HP total for getting the better defense type to have a sky high defense in.

Normal Matthew is proving to actually be pretty good if built right so yeah I didn't need convincing there

I'd consider 5*ing a Felicia if I ever got a good stat combo on the ones I've drawn. That being said Serra's res is pretty ridiculous so I think I can probably do a passable job at what Felicia is doing with her (when are clerics gonna get to use offensive specials tho)

Problem with using Serra for that is that she'll be getting doubled a lot. Felicia's speed is one of the absolute highest in the game, which makes up part of her inherent tanking potential.

I've considered making a Matthew build for a while but couldn't justify it when Felicia is currently eating up my dagger resources. I imagine he's really good at fighting archers/dagger users though, which is nice in the meta of Brave Lyn.

I sort of wonder what they plan to do with dagger users in the future. So far they have only add 2 new dagger users since the launch of the game. One of them was a summer banner exclusive and the other had a dagger that could not be inherited.

Serra doesn't really get doubled by much. I give her SPD+3 in the A slot, which makes her Speed 34 base. In a way the limited pool of what healers can have in the A slot plays to her advantage in that it doesn't seem silly to put SPD+3 in the A slot. I also sealed her for SPD to bump it to 35. You can do this with a +SPD copy of her just as well if you wanna use the A slot for something else (mine is +ATK). Favorite unit bonus, which, unfair on talking the general balance of the unit, but it shall be given it's me who's using her, puts her to 37, which means she's not really at any risk vs mages. General purpose Felicia is better for this specific use for a few reasons, but if you've got a nut who is already focused on Serra she is a bit redundant as the stat spreads are kinda similar.

And yeah I can basically do to Brave Lyn what you do to Reinhardt with Matthew. My Matthew is kinda better for what I'm using him for than Felicia as he literally can facetank a group if they come at him right with his skill setup (he has Close Counter + Rogue Dagger + Seal ATK + ATK Smoke soon, which means his 30 base defense is actually plenty to fight a ton of physical attackers), which Felicia would have troubles doing unless the opposition was dragons. This is more non-arena play use talking though-- arena play they function the same, just bait different units.

Felicia needs a slaying dagger with decent MT, otherwise she's just a worse Niles (and Niles is already mostly just a worse Innes).

it doesn't help that she can't even bait optimal Reinhardt without some combo of merges/support/res buff.

Felicia is so cute, wish I could make a good set out of her, but she's too low on the priority list. I keep going back-and-forth between if she really needs Poison Dagger, but it's not like she can even get that from me right now.

Yeah I do think that using Felicia with a default Silver Dagger+ seems suboptimal. But at the moment most of the daggers kinda suck.

I think Matthew's Rogue Dagger+ at least serves a niche that no archer currently can as it allows him to boost his defensive stats by 5 more-- if you find a safe attack target before the round or can bait a weaker attacker he's pretty distinctively tanky at the moment.

But without Close Counter (and who is dumb enough to scrap their Takumi on Matthew) he's not as reliably proccing his debuffs and self buffs so yeah it's a pretty niche build.

Eventually they're going to have the add the other thieves into the game, so I'm sure we'll get more dagger characters sooner or later.

Both Niles and Innes have worse Speed/Res than Felicia, which is the main point of this whole role they're going for. Those are weird comparisons. Niles is somewhat similar to Felicia but Innes doesn't do the same thing as them at all

Felicia's HP is really low is the thing, so while Niles has 1 less RES, he actually has a bit more effective counter attack HP in the first round. It's a pretty fair comparison all things considered. Do agree Innes is reaching a bit though.

3 extra speed between them is a huge difference though. When you're baiting in enemies, extra speed is extra tank because you get doubled by way less people.
