Rogue One got spoiled for me. I almost didn't see it, but my sister told me I was being silly for refusing to watch it just because I knew how it ended. Even so, I'm one of the few people who dislikes the creative decision they made at the end.

Actually, Rogue One isn't the worst. Just the most recent.


In terms of movies, Shane was the worst. Instead of just showing the moments leading up to the final gunfight, the trailer for the film showed Shane killing his rival, then spinning around to kill his rival's boss. So both villain deaths were spoiled. Great movie, but that really threw a wet blanket on the film.

In terms of novels, 1984 is the big one. Someone gave away the ending when I was halfway through and I stopped cold right there. An honorable mention goes to Portrait of a Lady, the only novel I ever used SparkNotes for, because the professor gave away mid-novel that she winds up with the wrong guy. Soon as he let that cat out of the bag, I stopped reading and just went straight to the summaries. Terribly dull book anyway.

Persona 4. My friend spoiled who the killer was the day before I was about do the part of the game that had me figure out who it was. I was super pissed.

Half-Blood Prince without a doubt. I was about 40 pages from reading that Snape kills Dumbledore and was furious about it being spoiled. The book had been out for only a few weeks, and a fucking stupid friend who knew I was reading it just blurted it out. Still teared up though.

I also had Star Wars VII ruined for me, but it was in the stupidest way possible.

I was working in the computer lab at my old youth center and a bunch of kids were playing Agar.io. They were only allowed to play it if they turned the player names off, but one of the little fuckers ignored that rule. When I walked by his screen, I saw one of the other online players with the name HanSoloDies.

This happened like a day or two after it opened in theaters and I was planning on going the next day. I had avoided internet entirely for the week or two leading up to it.

Does it have to be a real spoiler? Youtube's autofill thing in the search bar gave me a fake spoiler for Gears of War 3 saying that Baird would die. Like for the rest of the whole game I was getting worried every scene he was in, and then towards the end when he's worried about the plot device bomb I thought it was all over for him.

Someone here on GameFAQs posted the ending to Red Dead Redemption in all caps back when the game was new.

Someone posted a major Star Wars: The Force Awakens spoiler in the Star Wars: Old Republic Online general chat.

Those are the only two I can think of off the top of my head.

Theres been a couple of thinly veiled GoT spoilers that have been posted in titles here on CE that doesn't take a genius to figure out. It's still waaaaaaaaaay above the average moderator's mental capabilities though.

Not really a spoiler per se, but multiple people made me aware of a scene in Game of Thrones that I'd not gotten to yet, the infamous red wedding. Given the nature of the series, it was pretty obvious what was going to happen.

I don't mind spoilers, it just makes me more excited to see all the little hints, like when you watch a movie for the 2nd time and realize how much more awesome Hot Fuzz or Fight Club is watching the 2nd time than the 1st.
