Because it's just a free pass to people who got to slide under some bs laws. My uncle and his wife had to pay 9 grand each last year after a 12 year waiting period to legally come here. Do it like everyone else, go back to your country and apply

That's like saying it's okay for me to sneak my own beer to a club and get mad when they tell me I can't have it and have to leave

Not really. They walk into the club with the expectation it's just them. All of sudden they just popped out some beers. Well I'm already here so my beers should stay here too.
It's a scam

When people stop holding up CSA flags in the US then complain about those people.

It's a business? You can stay at home and drink your own beers. There to make money not handouts

That's what makes it an excellent analogy - sometimes laws get passed to prevent business from making a profit at the expense of the people. There's a greater good beyond their wallets.

I'd be all in favor of banning businesses from banning people from bringing in their own drinks - they should simply compete fairly. If their beer really is good enough to warrant costing five times as much as what you can bring in, it'll sell on that merit. If not, stop fucking price gouging.

Only anchor babies have that distinction, and they are already US citizens by birth meaning they have every right to stay in America.

DACA only says "we will overlook your unlawful presence for now since your parents likely didn't give you a choice in coming here, but you better stay on your best behavior and pay us $495 every 2 years, or we will send your ass back to whatever hellhole your family came from."

Yes, but the club has other costs. They aren't just paying for the beers. They need to pay for rent, lighting, the entertainment, cleaning the place, etc. They need to run the business, and the profits come from selling drinks/food. Otherwise, the business doesn't function. I mean they could also let you bring in drinks and play $50 cover, but I don't think people would like that either.

And why can't we keep that going? They have to be well-behaved, productive members of society to even qualify, and this is the country they consider their own. They are as much a part of their foreign birthplace as you or I.

the argument is that making it beneficial to sneak your family in encourages more illegal immigration. Which is what the GOP wants to cut down on, for some reason.

i don't see a reason to compare illegal immigrants to refugees lawfully requesting to be saved from being murdered or raped. its not really the same thing at all.

Why are these people coming from Mexico or south America in the first place and why are they so afraid to go back?

I understand that they want to leave their countries, and there are legal ways to do it. My family did it. I think legal immigration should be looked at (which it is), and those channels should be used. It doesn't make sense to try to improve and support the path of illegal immigration when you can improve legal immigration instead.

I believe refugee situations are exceptional, and there should be pathways for these as well, which include vetting processes. These pathways could perhaps be quicker than the standard route. However, non-refugee ILLEGAL immigration should be curbed. I don't see any argument for why this is not the case. If there's an issue with who is taken in, or what number, there are legal options that can be modified as necessary.
