My girlfriend and I were gonna be booking a trip there early next year and my Dad is super pissed because OMG TERRORISTS YOU'RE GONNA DIE.

I've said that we live in Boston which just had a fucking terrorist attack and he's like "Yeah just one."

It's safe for the most part. Just try to avoid places where lots of people gather.

Basically i'm not allowed to even bring the subject up without him making it awkward for us, so i'm not gonna let him ruin my excitement. My mom is ecstatic and has only been helping us think of fun things to do while we're there, where he always goes silent and does these passive aggressive sighs and shit.

My mom is aware that terrorism exists but doesn't let fear run her life.

It was destroyed by terrorists and then nearly saved by Gerard Butler and Aaron Eckhart.

It's a utopia dude. You know that London from the movies and posters in the past that shows everybody happy, sipping tea, Brits as far as the eye can see smiling while walking their dogs and greeting everyone they see?

I was living in London during that period of attacks and, really, you have nothing to be afraid of. I changed nothing from my regular routine. The chances of being in an incident are the same as it is anywhere. At least there are no guns involved in the attacks. London on the whole is very safe, CCTV everywhere and police monitoring all the major areas. If you want to be at ease, try to be indoors or in parks as much as possible. The major landmarks, Big Ben, Tower, and Bridge can be done quickly for an obligatory picture.
