Bad_Mojo 09/04/17 11:22:51 PM #1:	A new report says that John Cena is one of two front-runners for Captain Marvel, the lead role in DC’s Shazam! superhero film. That Hashtag Show claims that Cena is one of the main candidates along with Joshua Sasse (Galavant). It is important to note that the news is not confirmed at this time. However, the show has a good record of breaking past superhero news, so there may be some credence to the report. David Sandberg (Annabelle: Creation) is set to direct the film, with plans to begin production early next year for a 2019 release date. According to the site, there is also a casting call for Billy Batson, the younger (non-superhero) version of Captain Marvel. The call reads: “Male, 12-15 years old. A teenager who becomes Captain Marvel, the world’s mightiest mortal. Granted access to incredible powers by the wizard Shazam, he speaks the wizard’s name and is struck by a lightning bolt that gives him the powers of the gods.” The alleged synopsis for the film reads, “Based on the DC Comics character “Shazam!” Billy Batson becomes Captain Marvel, the world’s mightiest mortal, when he says the magic word “Shazam! The name is an acronym for six gods and heroes of the ancient world as well as their attributes. The wisdom of Solomon, strength of Hercules, stamina of Atlas, power of Zeus, courage of Achilles and speed of Mercury.” Interestingly, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is set to play Black Adam, Captain Marvel’s nemesis, in a separate solo film.
