I know morally it seems bad but he's reversing it because Obama passed this unilaterally. You shouldn't be allowed to pass laws like that. That's why Trump is giving congress 6 months to do it the right way.

To me that sounds like an objectively good bill. What's the reasoning behind destroying it?

Isn't it the program that requires no criminal history? (the people Trump said he wouldn't be targeting)

Isn't it a path to citizenship who did nothing illegal themselves and were the victims of circumstance.

Doesn't this destroy the credibility of the governments word and make it essentially impossible for any sort of trust for anything from gun by backs, to amnesty, to plea bargains. Can't trust to government to live up to their end of the bargain.

And why doesn't it surprise me that someone who names themselves the Donald doesn't even know what the term anchor baby means will continue to use it. I swear more and more every day that passes I'm convinced Trump was elected by people terrified of Mexicans and Muslims living out in Kansas where they've never seen either.

The program says must've been here since before 16 and live here continously since at least 2007 which means today the very youngest of the old would be 26, employed, in school, no criminal convictions and spent their late teens and early adulthood here and learned to function as an adult in America and not their home country. Further more 2/3 of the program is kids that came under 10 and 33% are kids that came under six.

Using your example of came at 12 means they spent 6 years of the life they can remember in another country and at least 10 years in the USA including their formative years.

These are kids who did nothing wrong that you want to send back to a home they don't know because their parents did something wrong over a decade ago.
