After today they are no longer accepting renewals which means at the very most they have 2 years living legally in America

Which gives congress effectively a year to decide what to do about the dreamers, which logically should be an easy vote in but might not get a vote in the first place ?

We'll be engaged in ww3, requiring dreamers to enlist for citizenship. They had this all planned out.

I mean congress has had all this time to make that decision. This being active didn't prevent them from doing anything. Now that it's gone what makes you think they'll get serious about it?

Yes. The problem with DACA is that it was pushed through as a executive order. It bypassed the legislative process entirely, and hinged on Democrats retaining the White House so that if Republicans were ever to get in the White House again, it would be so much harder to get rid of it. By not renewing it, Congress has the opportunity to do it the right way. I suspect that they will try to fix it, properly, as no party will want to be seen as deporting a bunch of kids/adults that are essentially Americans, to some foreign country.

I don't know about Trump's maneuvering and such (lol 4d chess), but he's essentially handed the Republicans an easy way to do something that most people will view as good.

Because major politicians from both sides are blowing steam over it.

It's now a do or die situation
